I don't necessarily think they look cool, but it sure does get some peoples undies in a bunch. If I lived in a desert, I like the concept of clean(er) air being sucked in, but around here, just not needed.
But it would keep the mice out!
I made the mistake one year of lightly tapping the windows of my softtop and split the plastic. I've had soft top jeeps since '85 and that was a new one on me. Word to the wise, tap the fabric, not the plastic ;)
Since actual diameter is often different than what the manufacturer labels a tire, use a GPS app on your phone and compare. You could also measure the height of your tire and use an app like jscan to set the tire height and correct the speedo difference.
I picked up a Quadratec combo of bikini, windjammer, and tonneau cover pretty cheap a few years ago. Not overly impressed with them. I'm tempted to buy the Bestop version because it looks like there are fewer straps. And Bestop quality is 2nd to none.
@Tammyj You can get the factory pieces, but it's a lot cheaper to buy an aftermarket unit, and you'll get a better sounding unit as well. NAV updates will likely be easier/cheaper, too.
If you want an easy solution, go to www.crutchfield.com and look around. If you're adventurous, there are...
I've had a similar problem happen once, & my daughter in law had it happen to her jk (my old one) too. I suggested rotating the tires as a easy item to eliminate. Her mechanic father poo-poo'd the idea. Vibration gone. I suggested rotating tires regularly & checking for worn components. In her...
Happy Easter! If your unsure what you need, call up Crutch field. They're very helpful. I guess it may depend on what you want to install. I know I needed an adapter for my android based unit, but I expect some hu's are plug 'n play.
Yes you'll have to remove the airbag and steering wheel in order to get to the clock spring. I don't know of any way to test it, but the clock spring is the electrical connection for your stalks & SW buttons.
What site is that? When I look up that p/n on the Mopar site, it comes back with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System receiver.

Edit, It looks like other sites are calling it the Sentry Key Immobilizer...
My mistake... recall affected mostly RHD models, but Chrysler extended the warranty at one time and I had one of mine replaced under that. In looking today, I don't see a "BCM" for JKs. It seems the TIPM incorporates the functions of a BCM and that is under the hood. The module by the glovebox...
Howdy. This forum deals mostly with 2007-2018 Wranglers. However I do have a Gladiator and it has the auto-brake feature... Is that what you mean by "locking up"?
I have this one
It works, but the hitch mount one, and one of the pads in the above kit, might be a better combo.
There used to be a external rack that mounted to the hard top by MBRP, but it's discontinued. You can find it as a knock off though.
