    question about my jeep

Welcome to death wobble! I'd definitely look at replacing the tires. I'd jack up the front and feel out the wheels. Should be smooth. If you're lucky it's tires. Could be rims. Hubs. Bushings. Links. Lots of things. Bent axles. String works good for eyeballing alignment...get a string just...

Chirp Goes Away Pushing Clutch Pedal

Luk or Centerforce. Don't over clutch your Jeep. Too much clutch...things to make it handle high HP like multiple disks etc ... can compromise driveability. Just say no to AutoZone. I bought my Luk for my TJ on Amazon. A pilot bearing puller is also cheap but I've always used white bread...

Need Bumper Ideas for New 2017 Bumper with No Winch

I betcha I could fix that in about 20 minutes with a heat gun. Maybe 30 because it's 37 degrees out... -Mac

    Vancouver Island

Hi guys, wife and I are thinking of making a trip to Vancouver Island next summer from Oregon. Curious if we need any special permits or registration. Tips for offroading on the island? Recommended areas? Thanks!

    2013 Won't Start

I'd check engine grounds and wiring in the area you worked. Wiggle plugs. Any hidden codes? -Mac

    HA! Someone finally said it!

I'd take 100k and rock chips over angry eyes. To each their own... More opinions about parts just increases the diversity of what's available...and that's good for everyone... Angry eye grills makes decent used takeoffs cheap...as evidenced by the post. I'm good with cheap parts! -Mac

What did you do to your JK today?

These are easy...and cheap...I used these on my TJ...just wish they had a high/low two circuit model for turn signals/trim. I just installed two per side. https://www.superbrightleds.com/bolt-beam-12mm-led-light-55-lumens

    Water in jack storage area

The 12 I bought this summer had the same issue. I replaced it with a bottle jack. I think all my water was coming from a completely rotted out cabin air pressure flap on the tailgate. Removing that and replacing it with a siliconed on delete plate while installing Morryde tailgate reinforcement...

Oh boy..... Saw This On Mecum Chicago

I wanna see someone do a front dig on that beast to turn it around on a narrow trail. -Mac

JK 3.8 swap to a 4.0 how to?

If you took a complete 4.0, transmission, transfer case and computer sure with fabbing mounts and custom drive shafts you could get it running. No idea how you'd do the dash...but with some creativity anything is possible. I'd think a hemi or LS swap would be far easier...many have gone before...

Is there a fuse for the fog lights?

Add some resistance? Match Ohms to factory lights? -Mac

Front diff noise, what could it be? (video)

I lost a brand new gear setup...6 months in the pinion grenaded. Best theory was the pinion was too tight, got hot and blam. Happens. Wish I had a FLIR. Wish someone made a led screen monitor watching 4 or 6 magnetic wireless temp probes I could stick on the pumpkins. -Mac

Front diff noise, what could it be? (video)

Get a laser thermometer from HF and check the temperatures... bottom of the diff cover... bottom of the diff...sides around the pinion. Nothing should be over 200 and realistically not in 4 wheel it should be close or under 100. Probably want to pull the cover and inspect things. -Mac

    Need electrical connector for locker...

Putting a OEM e-locker Dana 44 from 2008 in my 2012 Sport. Going to wire it to an Auxbeam control panel. Just need the plug...would prefer to find a matching connector rather than buying an Amp or Deutch connector. -Mac

    Tailgate won't open

Looks an 1/8' low at the latch to me...but that might be the angle. I deliberately set mine a 1/16" high to account for minor sag when the weight of the tire is added. -Mac

Would you carry spare parts when rock crawling?

All depends on where you're going and how far away from home and support. -Mac

JK Handbrake not holding when applied.

Have you checked the shoes inside the drums incorporated into the rear rotor? There is a rubber plug you can pull out and manually adjust the parking brake...I don't think the auto adjust. -Mac

    Tailgate won't open

Mine was all over the place until I put in Morryde hinges and reinforcement bars. The sheet metal was even snapped close to the hinges in the vent area...I need to weld that... PO through 35s on this JK without a regear...and they put a wheel spacer on the back tire carrier so the spare would...

    Tailgate won't open

How heavy of a spare tire do you have? Try removing the spare? How do the body lines look? You can loosen the hinge bolts and wedge the tailgate up a bit using a chainsaw wedge... plastic...not a hard top... without any damage. -Mac
