Thanks for that confirmation. I went round and round with myself on needing tons just to get down the road. Then I saw a guy at Kroger running 37s and he didn’t seem to have a problem at all. His jeep didn’t explode. I do like the wheels so I stuck with 11.5s because Discount Tire won’t...

Did you end up using a spacer?

made a deposit and scheduled my regear to 4.56. I went back and forth between so many different ideas I was getting nowhere slow. While some say that Dana 30 will fall to pieces the minute it’s used, I’m okay with taking the risk. Also ordering tires. Going with the Falken AT4W in...

What did you do to your JK today?

Man you nailed it perfectly for me. I'm operating out of a 2 car garage. If I had a 40x40 shop, this would be an easier call. So the call I'm working through now is buying those rubicon axles from Baseline ($4K) or paying for a regear on my 30/44 ($3.5K). I really wanted to go the Dynatrac...

Brave soul. After watching countless videos, I think I’m confident enough I just don’t want to buy the tools. I don’t have a shop press or clamshell puller which are the tools most use to make this doable. From my calculations, it’s about a wash after buying the tools for the first time.

Am I correct about the pulling of the bearings? It looks like that was only required because the carrier was going to be re-used. In my case, the carrier will go in the scrap bin and so no puller would be needed. Is that correct?

Based on your comment, I went down the YouTube hole and if you are replacing the carrier then I’m not even sure you need that tool. It seems like you could have a machine shop press on the pinion bearing and one on the carrier, correct?

I’ve thought about it. But I understand the bearing set tool is something like $800.

Yeah I thought so too but I got three quotes and $700 in labor on the low end and $1,200 in labor on the high end. In 2021 I regeared my TJ front and back with TTs for less money. I wanna say it was $1,800 OTD.

I live in TN and see between $700 and $1,000 in labor per axle. I'm looking to just get the rears done w/ TrueTracks and it is ~$2,500 out the door parts and all. For me, it is cheaper to buy a junkyard Rubicon axle in 4.10 than it is to have a non-Rubicon geared to 4.88.

    Baseline 4x4

Your comments are super helpful m especially to add real experience for the setup I’m considering. It’s a 2017 JKU and there’s nothing particularly special about the wheels except they are color matched to the bumpers that look like Rubicon 10 year anniversary bumpers. So it seems like I’ll be...

    Baseline 4x4

Thanks for that last comment because it’s about $300 difference between the recon and ultimate 44. I considered that approach but then you get the “might as wells” and then you are spending $10K. The idea behind the 285/75s is that it sits at 33” true but doesn’t require the spacer that the...

    Baseline 4x4

It’s running the larger tires. If I were starting with anything other than the 3.21s, i probably wouldn’t do it. Especially if i started with 4.10s.

    Baseline 4x4

Thanks. Seems like a legit company. Price depends on whether you get the rubicon recon or regular rubicon and it’s about $1,000 difference between the options. As far as a build, I’m looking to just run something like 285/75r17 or 34x10.5r17….whichever I find the best deal on. The reason...

Has anyone ever used them for any major parts? I was looking at getting some rubicon axles from them but wanted to solicit any feedback before dropping that kind of cash.
