2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread (plus an Islander side project)

I think I would have kept my 3.8 if I had a chance for a new 8HP transmission. I honestly don't feel the desire for my Jeep to have as much HP as my Mustang. To each their own though, incredible build so far!

    Openroad winch experiences?

I mean I have a Warn Evo, which a lot of people call junk because some of the parts are sourced in China. Never had an issue in three years. And the truth of the matter is, with the global economy everything has Chinese sourced parts or metals in it. My hesitation is more no name brands are no...

    New Jeep + Fix

JKs are electrical nightmares although I hear the JLs are somehow worse.

    Openroad winch experiences?

Winches are very much a get what you pay for kind of deal. I would seriously consider your needs and projected usage then come up with a realistic budget for a recovery kit and a winch. A good set up will not be cheap. That being said, the first thing that came up for me when I googled...

What did you do to your JK today?

So put my PCM back in, replaced the M27 and M28 fuses like WranglerFix suggested, still no joy. I can't even get a code off the dash using the turn key method (It's all dashes and then says DONE after several seconds). At this point I can only conclude, with the knowledge that I have, that it's...

What did you do to your JK today?

I'll try that. I got a pack of fuses, just waiting for my PCM to come back from Florida.

What did you do to your JK today?

I got the Hot Oil warning during the summer and then my engine just shut down. When I turn the key to try to start it just makes my radio go on and off.

I keep debating getting a twill top but my sailcloth is still going strong. Looks dirty yea, but it's a Jeep.

What did you do to your JK today?

Engine won't start and no power to OBD to sum it up. Replaced battery cables, starter, alternator, etc. Checked all fuses. The Jeep still turns on and has power but the engine just won't turn over.

    Stock Spare Tire Carrier

It will mount but you'll probably have a lot of vibration. I'd start thinking about a heavier duty mount.

What did you do to your JK today?

WranglerFix tested my PCM and said it was perfectly fine. They updated the software and sent it back to me with two day shipping. I'm kind of at a loss now in regards to my Jeep, I guess the next step is to pull the wiring harness.

What did you do to your JK today?

I still wish I had gotten one but my 2dr JK was the only 2dr I could find at the time. Right in the middle of covid.

    2007 JK overheats

$700 is absurd to replace hoses. Even if they're doing a complete drain and fill.

When I asked him if a mechanic went over it, that obviously included all of this.

Buying first Jeep on Friday! Lots of questions

First off, had you had a mechanic go over it to make sure that it's in good working order? As far as bumpers go, as long as you're not doing anything gucci like dehorning your front end, front and back are both bolt on and should be 15 minute jobs at most. Some JK bumpers are made to look...

What did you do to your JK today?

I had the same thing happen to me. Went up at a very high elevation and the next day my radiator started leaking. Since these things are notorious for leaks and the OEM radiators hold up the best, I ended up buying a couple junkyard ones.
