    Hate Dealers

Yeah pretty bad, my experience was between Bish's RV and Winnebago. Now, I'll say that the purchasing experience was good and I got what I think was a pretty good price. Service/warranty, however, was a total hassle. I had it in after our first trip to have the black tank dump valve...

Pros and cons of going with a newer JLU diesels

Here's an interesting JL that popped in my FB Marketplace feed today: It has the 392, however...

    Hate Dealers

The fact that dealers are independent and not part of the OEM is a huge problem. It separates the responsibility and not in favor of the customer. I agree that this model is way outdated. In the age of electronic info, the customer can find the same info as the dealer, and many times knows...

Pros and cons of going with a newer JLU diesels

I'll give you my perspective after contemplating this several times, focusing on the JL v. JK aspect only, not the engine. An Xtreme Recon JLU was for sale relatively locally a few months back and really had me thinking. Factory lift, 35s, 4.56 gears, 8 spd trans, updated interior. I think...

New to the Jeep world and need advice

They do improve horsepower, but mainly at the peak where you have the highest airflow. Most people aren't driving near that point for very long, especially in a Wrangler. Most vehicles designed in the last 10 or 15 years provide very little benefit with induction and cold side exhaust...

Changing JK fuel injectors to JL fuel injectors

I wouldn't dive into the engine just to make this change, but if you were changing anyway might as well go with the JL units. 8 vs 4 hole is directional correct for fuel atomization but agree with @Chris that for our engines you won't see any real benefit. Lower cost is always good, though!

Bilstein 4600 shock replacements on 2008 JK (front nylock problem solved)

I found someone selling their OEM JK Rubicon shocks on Marketplace and gave those a shot. He had removed them after a few thousand miles and they were sitting in his basement ever since. Had no reason not to believe him as they looked new. An improvement over the Sahara shocks. Around...

New to the Jeep world and need advice

True regarding horsepower, but the OP mentioned he wanted a more aggressive sound than stock. A cat back can fulfill this want. I don't have any first hand experience but I know others on here have done this.

    2014 Wrangler 3.6 Overheating

LH (driver's) head seems to be the most problematic. You can also do a leak-down test to see if it's both sides or just one. Sometimes it can be can be difficult to get definitive results with the scope. Other times it's obvious.

    Cracked cylinder head assembly help

Time is a one factor here... Is this an extra vehicle or your primary mode of transportation? Money is the other. What will they give you for a trade-in offer? You can then compare this to having it fixed and then selling it on the used private-party market. Let's say you can get $20k...

    Horns don’t work

I installed a twin ARB on my SuperDuty and would love to have the same on the Jeep. Totally unnecessary but nice when you need it!

    Acceleration Issue

I would also remove the belt and check all the accessories for noticeably high friction/resistance. My guess would be either the alternator or A/C. Alternators can really start to smell like they're burning when they're going bad. This coupled with the belt rubber getting toasted could be...

2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread (plus an Islander side project)

Having the knowledge and experience to do this yourself is huge! I've had regears done in several vehicles but never attempted it myself.

    2014 Wrangler 3.6 Overheating

Did this start with an overheating issue or was that a result of a water pump (or other part) change? I would do a combustion leak test on the coolant if you haven't already.

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

It will only have 3.73s if that option was selected. 3.21s are standard regardless of Sport or Sahara. You can verify with a VIN lookup to get the original window sticker or the feature content from Jeep.

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

I purchased from a local dealer. They agreed to the assessment using their own service dept. and included a powertrain warranty with the sale. It was only 3mos but gave me a bit more peace of mind that there wasn't any ongoing issues with it. They actually had it competitively priced vs...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

Unfortunately the issues trickled into other years. Mine is a 2016 but I negotiated the sale based on a positive result for compression and leak down. Something you may want to think about to ensure you don't purchase one with early signs of degradation.

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

You'll want a later model year (15-17) to stay clear of the head and rocker/cam issues.
