Turning off the center console USB port

This. If your phone isn't plugged in, there should be no drain on the battery. And, too, even if you're leaving your phone in the Jeep and plugged in, it'll take a LONG time before it drains the battery.

    Stuck heater controls

That can happen. My wife managed to prevent her AC from working because of an overloaded glovebox.

    Stuck heater controls

Your problem is most likely the blend door actuator. Super common for them to fail on these Wranglers.

    Trying for a second key.

If you spend $50 on a JScan setup, you can program your keys yourself. $30 for a key on Amazon, a few bucks to have it cut, and program it yourself. Presto.

    Exhaust cross member heat shield

The heat shield is between the exhaust and the floor pan. It's not to prevent brush fires, it's to prevent your feet from stinking any more than they already do...

2015 JKU Sport Leaking Oil? Just bought.

Are you sure it's oil and not transmission fluid?

First Jeep, tell me where to start

How important a gear change is certainly depends on where you're starting. 35's and 3.21 gears would absolutely suck. 35's with 4.10 gears isn't terrible.

    Best repair manual?

There's a lot of good stuff on YouTube. There's also a lot of utter nonsense. A good paper manual (like Haynes) will have step by step instructions that you can have in the engine bay while you work. And no worries about breaking your laptop.

    Best repair manual?

Haynes. Been using them since the 70's. Always a good choice.

Need Help with SIMPLE OEM Radio upgrade 2008 JK

I installed these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BFBVLR9/?tag=jkforum-20 in both Wranglers. They're less than $200 and were plug & play. Installation takes about 30 minutes.

What did you do to your JK today?

Cool top, but I bet it's pretty pricey.

What did you do to your JK today?

@Speartip, looks like a lovely place. I used to do hardcore wheeling. I've run every 10/10 trail in Colorado. But as I get older, I find I'm more interested in scenic trails instead.

Should I replace my ball joints?

It costs more upfront, but if you don't ever want to change them again, look into ball joint eliminator kits.

Should I replace my ball joints?

Doesn't sound like they need replaced. Personally, I'm a "while I'm in there" guy, so I'd replace them and avoid the necessity of pulling it all apart again.

Catalytic convertor replacement on 07 3.8

The California Air Resource Board (CARB) makes the rules for CA, and they can make them stricter than the federal laws, but never less strict. Most aftermarket parts manufacturers are CARB compliant, because it would be silly to voluntarily cut yourself off from such a large market. Again, I...

Catalytic convertor replacement on 07 3.8

Bear in mind that long tube headers are not street legal anywhere in the US. It is illegal to change the number or locations of the cats. Yes, it's a stupid law, but it's something to keep in mind.

    Spare Tire Delete (Convince Me)

If you do any actual off-roading, you need a spare. There is no debate on this issue. Rocks slice sidewalls. If your Jeep is a pavement pounder, then a plug kit or a can of Fix-A-Flat is fine. Visibility can be fixed by replacing your rearview mirror with a smart mirror. I use this one...
