Seats are different as well. Most everything else is the same. Look at it this way. From a business perspective, it is just cheaper for jeep to make the same parts and have them work across multiple models. I think even JL and JK bumpers are co-compatible.. though don't quote me on that.

I'm almost certain you need to fully remove the assembly to get the motor off. If you have any access to the wiper motor, it should just be a couple of 10mm bolts to get the whole assembly off, then you can work on it without having to lean over a hood.
