The main problem with engaging 4wd on dry roads is when you try to turn and your wheels are all going the same speed. It causes stress on your driveline components. Try 4h at slow speeds in a parking lot. You'll feel the resistance and the wheel hop.

Could be a fuel related issue too.

Kind of two different things. The superchips flashpaq is a fault code reader, does things like set the spedometer depending on tire size changes, sets gear ratios, does performance tuning on the engine for different octane gas, allows control of other things like lights, turn signals, etc...

The weight looks like it's within specs if you don't overload it. The higher your gears are numerically the better you can tow. 3.21's not a great option for towing. Might consider a heavier spring like the OME heavy rear springs, or airbags. Might also go with a higher weight oil...
