Where is the best place to buy touch-up paint?

If you have an auto body paint shop near you, you can give them your paint code from your door jamb and they'll mix you up a small touch up paint bottle, rattle can or whatever you want. I get mine from an auto paint shop and it's about $5 and change. Also, if you have small rock/gravel...

Throttle problems when driving up hills

Before I got the Pedal Commander, my 3.8 w/ 3.21 gears and 255/75r17s was gutless. OP says “severe”. I just had to downshift, and I was good. With an auto trans, your tranny should just be downshifting. Without check engine lights, etc. that are indicating you have an issue, could it be...

Buying a JK, need some help (Jeep newbie)

In having this conversation with BLACKJKU recently, I got the Pedal Commander with my 2007 with the 3.8 liter V6. When looking for a Jeep this year and being in your same position, I was also hunting for any 4 door (because of kids). I test drove up to 2012. Although there was a difference...

Mom needs help with a Jeep Christmas list

I concur with a gift card to Amazon or his favorite local Jeep outfitter. That way he can have the choice of which upgrades/accessories in the order he wants to do them.

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

I don’t have the 3.6, but I can tell you from reviews from multiple sites... believe me - I looked before dropping the cash on one, 99% love it. A lot of them also used the PC on their Chargers, Durangos, Rams, GCs and other ones that have the 3.6. I’ve only seen a couple that complain about...

Power Wheels Wrangler sticker—what does this mean?

Here is to pre-owned Jeeps! I'm in the same situation.

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

@BLACKJKU - Thank you for hurrying my decision on the Pedal Commander. Got it and installed it within 30 min of deliver. NIGHT AND DAY difference. The City setting alone should’ve been what came from the factory. Up hills, merging into traffic, starts from stop lights and every which way just...

    Good money for poor quality

Score! (kinda) Sucks you'll have to fix the bumper piece, but it'll be to your standards and you can get more stuff!

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

Great to know, thank you! But, I will keep it regardless (unless it's for a newer one). This JKU proved itself to me... it's starting to feel like a great wife: may have its quirks, but damn- I'll ride it every day (if I didn't have a work car!)

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

👍👍 on the tips. Thank you. I'll be sure to do a once over on it. When I purchased it and got the rims/tires/suspension installed, I had those guys check to make sure of the front end, due to death wobble stories. He said that the PO actually installed a beefier stabilizer bar and shock. I'll...

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

    1. Screw you! 🤣. I am whining, but I DID SAY - I like my Jeep more after the trip. 2. My wife is better looking than me, so I agree with you. 80mph is a norm here in Utah on the interstate, I still got passed by.... Everyone. But, who cares - my trip is way more fun than theirs - except for...

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

I actually thought of the Pedal Commander on the way home. It would considerably help to get the momentum before you downshift and get up the hill. There are some cheaper ones out there, but I think I'd stick with something more reputable.

Newbie, lessons learned on a road trip with the 3.8 with 6-speed manual and soft top

Just completed a 300 mile (each way trip) with my '07 JKU X with the 3.8l, 6 speed and soft top. Here are the lessons learned if you were like me and studied the Wranglers before you bought or just bought yours. Bought my JKU with 118,500 mi used as a 3rd vehicle to putt around on weekends...

Fastback Hardtop—DV8 vs Rally Tops for 07 JKU

The soft tops have the luxury of ease for removal and storage. How's the Rampage Trailview with freeway noise?

Fastback Hardtop—DV8 vs Rally Tops for 07 JKU

How does the Rampage do in terms of wind noise at 80mph... say - compared to a hard top? Might be a good alternative to a fastback hard top for storage purposes? I love the look of those fastback hardtops, but my friend that has one that is neither the DV8 OR Rally (American Fastbacks I think)...

    Good money for poor quality

That's bullshit. Hope they pay a body shop to reshoot it or compensate you. For what it's worth, I think you can get a Duplicolor rattle can spray from O'reilly's or AutoZone that has your same paint code for about$10. Sand it with 600 grit and shoot it yourself with a few light coats, maybe...

What is this wheel lock and how do I remove it?

That $27 kit BLACKJKU pasted a link of, is actually awesome and a pretty damn good alternative if you're not in a pinch.

What is this wheel lock and how do I remove it?

Grab a socket that will barely fit over the lock, but one that you CANT push in by hand. When you find that one, hammer it on there so it does fit - very tightly. Once secured, use your ratchet, impact wrench or breaker bar and loosen it as you would a lug nut. If it strips or slides... use a...

    Help- My Jeep Possessed AGAIN

It was somewhere in the cable. We even cut it open after I replaced it and it looked fine. However, once that new cable was installed, not one issue after. It corroded in the guts maybe in all that braided line that I couldn't see.
