What did you do to your JK today?

I painted the inside of my shed last Summer using my Graco sprayer for the first time. Worked really well!

What did you do to your JK today?

Today I switched over to the "new to me" soft top. Acquired it in two purchases. The frame, brackets, surrounds, etc (and a worthless cover) was $25. A replacement cover in decent shape and tinted windows was $125. Not sure if I'm going to like this or not so I was happy to go forward...

    Might buy my first JK

The 3.6 in 2012 can be problematic for several reasons. The LH head had valve seat recessions issues and the well known cam/lifter issue. Do you know if either of these have been already addressed?

    Starting Issue

That's as good a thought as any! It does sound like an electrical issue to me.

    First time JK owner

Back in the late eighties I worked at a Nissan dealership. Their entry level Sentra always impressed me with its acceleration for a little sh*tbox. Essentially they used the same theory, @Anybodyhome , low final drive and a large ratio on the throttle body cam to open it quickly. Of course...

What did you do to your JK today?

My belt just started making some noise so I'm going to change it. I've heard the tensioner is a pain but I'm about to experience it for myself!

    What windshield header is this?

It's a good idea, but I wasn't planning on using this material anyway. There are a few soft top skins for sale cheap that have all the windows and are in good shape. I'll marry one of those to this frame and try it out to see if I like it or not. If I do, I'll keep my eye out for a...

    What windshield header is this?

For reference... Header installed correctly, but now with "custom" vent holes. Just have to laugh sometimes at what people hack up. 😂

    What windshield header is this?

Took it apart and indeed, the PO installed the header totally wrong. I took the opportunity to install it the right way just to learn how to do it, even though that fabric is trashed even more than I thought. It has ~27 screw holes in the front from the incorrect install. So that's good...

Well there is one in Indiana for sale for $1500 if anyone wants to roll the dice...

    What windshield header is this?

After staring at this a bit longer I'm thinking whoever replaced the top did so incorrectly... The header has the Bestop insignia stamped into it so I don't think there is anything weird going on there.

    What windshield header is this?

I've been contemplating getting a soft top although the jury is still out. 😂 I'll probably pick up a used one and try it out to see if it's to my liking or not. Many for sale locally don't include the rollbar brackets and/or door surrounds. One popped up with worn out fabric that I grabbed...

    First time JK owner

I don't think his are removed yet. I read the original post to mean that he thinks that's the problem (or a solution to his problem) and wants to know what will happen if he removes them. I could be wrong, though. Agree! I'm not an advocate for removal at all. In Michigan, however...

    Wont go into gear

@Lxxtsy I believe the OP meant to convey that his son's vehicle is a manual.

    First time JK owner

Well... Unless they are old, compromised, and blocking airflow. That will make a difference! At that point, depending on state regulations, you can remove them or replace them.

Went in for recalls to be fixed and the dealer tried to get me to pay almost 2k in service

The first three are reasonable price-wise. Would need more detail about what they are doing with #4. #5 sounds like a cash grab. #6 maybe platinum spark plugs? If so that price wouldn't be terrible for a 3.6, but not a 3.8.

    Wizard recovery gear!

The ones I have are pretty tight and and require some effort to get the knot through. Once there is tension the loop clearance is reduced significantly so I don't think that knot is coming back through. Playing devil's advocate, however, anything is possible with enough force, but I'm...

    Wizard recovery gear!

When I first learned of these I thought "why didn't someone think of these sooner?" In my lifetime there have always been fabric tow straps and the advent of fabric winch line, so why not fabric shackles?

What did you do to your JK today?

I had to sync a new phone with the Uconnect yesterday. Is it a just a totally ridiculous system or am I a dumb user? The only way I could find to pair phone was though voice commands. I had forgotten that was the case back when I bought this vehicle and paired the phone I had at the time...
