    Side step

Here's a photo of my friend Trudy after her TJ removed it's rock grabber. If you keep it out of the rocks, those are perfectly functional side steps.

If you off-road, they'll take themselves off soon enough. In which case you can replace them with some rock sliders.

    JK Fender Trim vs Replace

Trimming is basically free, but aftermarket metal flares look better.

Headlight Issue for new used Jeep owner

Yes. Because the factory didn't install LED bulbs in 2013, not halo lights.

What did you do to your JK today?

I fixed Mrs. Dogs AC. It stopped blowing cold. Turns out that if you pack enough crap into your glove box, it can overflow into the dash and block the intake where the air recirculates...

    2 door overlander

Wranglers don't handle well; they're not sports cars. Lifted Wranglers handle even worse, because higher center of gravity. Lifted Wranglers with a bunch of stuff on the top add to this. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. It just means you need to accept that it is NOT going to be a cornering...

Thinking of selling and looking for thoughts

Private sale will pretty much always be more than trade in value. But be reasonable. That 1800/3500 badge isn't going to matter.

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

I treated a guy who was shot in the head point blank with a .45. Bullet never penetrated the skull. But I don't recommend getting shot, either. Sometimes you just get lucky. Doesn't change the facts.

Correct wheels for 37x12.5x17 set up

As long as you have 4-4.5" backspacing, any wheel width from 8-10" should work just fine.

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

Any decision that includes getting spacers is a bad decision.

    Hood / windshield stone protection

In the past 20 years, I've driven full size trucks, mid-size trucks, Wranglers, and a couple sports cars. I don't see any real difference. It basically comes down to how much highway driving I do. It could be because Colorado is a sand state, not a chemical melt state.

    Hood / windshield stone protection

Nah... I've not noticed any vehicle that's immune. Have you?

    Hood / windshield stone protection

Windshields should be considered a consumable, just like oil and brake pads.

    Doors off foot pegs.

I don't know that anyone has ever done a formal study to see how often these things lead to injury, but 40+ years in the ER has left me with a reflexive negative view of anything that leads to body parts being outside the vehicle.
