    Best repair manual?

Haynes. Been using them since the 70's. Always a good choice.

True. And false. It depends on the head unit you install.

Need Help with SIMPLE OEM Radio upgrade 2008 JK

I installed these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BFBVLR9/?tag=jkforum-20 in both Wranglers. They're less than $200 and were plug & play. Installation takes about 30 minutes.

What did you do to your JK today?

Cool top, but I bet it's pretty pricey.

What did you do to your JK today?

@Speartip, looks like a lovely place. I used to do hardcore wheeling. I've run every 10/10 trail in Colorado. But as I get older, I find I'm more interested in scenic trails instead.

Should I replace my ball joints?

It costs more upfront, but if you don't ever want to change them again, look into ball joint eliminator kits.

Should I replace my ball joints?

Doesn't sound like they need replaced. Personally, I'm a "while I'm in there" guy, so I'd replace them and avoid the necessity of pulling it all apart again.

Catalytic convertor replacement on 07 3.8

The California Air Resource Board (CARB) makes the rules for CA, and they can make them stricter than the federal laws, but never less strict. Most aftermarket parts manufacturers are CARB compliant, because it would be silly to voluntarily cut yourself off from such a large market. Again, I...

Catalytic convertor replacement on 07 3.8

Bear in mind that long tube headers are not street legal anywhere in the US. It is illegal to change the number or locations of the cats. Yes, it's a stupid law, but it's something to keep in mind.

    Spare Tire Delete (Convince Me)

If you do any actual off-roading, you need a spare. There is no debate on this issue. Rocks slice sidewalls. If your Jeep is a pavement pounder, then a plug kit or a can of Fix-A-Flat is fine. Visibility can be fixed by replacing your rearview mirror with a smart mirror. I use this one...

What did you do to your JK today?

I'm still around. I've been less active, in part because I had a stroke July 11th. The radiation I took for throat cancer cooked my internal carotid on that side and it closed off. I had to have a stent placed. Here's your PSA... learn to recognize the signs of a stroke. 87% of all strokes are...

    Antenna recommendation

I have these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PV1Z42/?tag=jkforum-20 on both Jeeps. They work fine when I use them, but I mostly stream music anyway.

Does it really matter which brand for mods?

Honestly, I don't. Were I going to, I'd strip to bare metal and spray it with a liberal coating of bed liner.

    Motobilt tire carrier?

I'm not sure the factory bumper is strong enough to mount a swing arm tire carrier. Nor would the notch be large enough. You'll need to look into a new bumper (like the ones above) that is designed for a wheel & tire package with those dimensions and weight.

    Motobilt tire carrier?

Something like this seems typical of what you'll be looking at. https://www.hylineoffroad.com/jeep_parts/jeep_jk_tire_carrier_jeep_swing_out_tire_carrier

    Motobilt tire carrier?

What rear bumper do you have? Because that's going to have a huge impact on the tire size you can use.

    Motobilt tire carrier?

38's are generally too heavy for the stock hinges. You might be able to mount it on something like the Smittybilt that replaces the hinges, but you'd be better off, most likely, with a swing out bumper mounted style.
