Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

I just ordered a knock off version of the pedal commander on Amazon. $70 vs. $300. I can't wait to try it.

Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

I have them on the bench - it will be bitter cold this weekend. Maybe I will clean the garage so I can bring the Jeep inside and spend the day tinkering in comfort. I have been avoiding this since getting the plug wires off is a @#$% nightmare - and getting to the passenger side rear plug is...

Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

we got a 2008 with a 3.8 and about 150k on it for $10,500 and then put another $2K to $3K in it immediately on a new soft top (none came with it) and new interior upholstery and heated seats, and a new headunit. The stock stereo/bluetooth is terrible. Also upgraded the stock headlights, which...

Hard top leaking on 2008 2-door JK (help needed)

I have fiddled with it some more - playing with the order of tightening the hasps and how hard I tighten the sound bar bolts, etc. Seems to be very little leaking at all right now - knock on wood. I think that repairing the seal from gasket to hard top (where the factory 2-sided tape or glue...

Hard top leaking on 2008 2-door JK (help needed)

So it rained again and then snowed over the weekend. When my wife drove to school on Monday she noticed the inside of the top was frosty, and when she turned the heater on, it started raining on her down her neck. Ugh. So, not fixed. I noticed that the gasket along the back of the freedom...

Hard top leaking on 2008 2-door JK (help needed)

ok - all new foam bits applied, all rubber cleaned and coated with Sil Glyde (including doors and tailgate). the long rear seal was pulling away from the hard top, so reattached with black RTV. Poked the drain holes in the rear corner moldings like the factory tech note said to do. put the...

Hard top leaking on 2008 2-door JK (help needed)

I bought some Sil Glyde and will put that on the rubber seals today as soon as my wife gets home (and before dark, I hope). I am also going to try NOT tightening the sound bar screws so much to see if that helps. I'll let you all know if I learn anything.

Hard top leaking on 2008 2-door JK (help needed)

My wife's 2008 JK 2 door has a leaking hard top - mostly from the in the middle-rear of the freedom panels. I bought a kit with all the weatherstripping pieces and installed it - many of the originals were missing. I also cleaned all the seals on the hard top itself. I think I put the kit...

    Belt Squeal—Tensioner Arm?

I have a 2008 and I changed the pulleys and the belt - very quiet now. I think this must be a 100K maintenance item.

Passenger seat won't lock in place

I have a 2008 2-door. seat works great except that it will not lock in position at the rear, so I put a bungee cord/strap from the seat to the d-rings near the tailgate to keep it from flopping up if I stop suddenly. this is a good idea anyway, since if you fold the seat back forward, it...

Hard top season in NH is here again. I see a white top and I want it painted black

Wife has a 2008 JK with a hard top that I put back on this weekend - it's 70 degrees today, but winter is coming. We noticed that the soft top, which is black on the inside and outside, was a more comfortable driving experience than the hard top with the bright white interior. It may brighten...

    Back up camera options

I put a Sony XAV-AX1000 head unit in my wife's Jeep and a rear camera mounted to the towing hitch. Works great and was reasonably priced.

How to fix interior rattling on a Jeep Wrangler JK

my wife's Jeep tailgate rattled over every bump. I replaced the rear hinges and it went away. (actually, I replaced the hinge pins with re-greasable ones) That was the biggest source of rattling by far.

Any suggestions for rust protection on frame?

fluid film smells awful, never really dries, is messy to put on, and does not last that long. It is good for injecting into the frame if you want to rust proof from the inside, but I would still wire brush and coat the outside with POR 15.

Any suggestions for rust protection on frame?

I use Corroseal then POR 15 for rustier cars. I am not a fan of Fluid Film. I have also used Rustoleum rust restorer, which is good. I love Rustoleum rusty red metal primer - that stuff sticks to everything. The big issue with Por 15 is 1) cost - $$ and 2) do NOT get it on your hands or...
