Tire pressure alert—5th tire has been deleted

As Jeepers we check tire pressure often. Airing down then up depending on circumstances.

I would get the JScan to turn the system off. You will find it is easier to make other system changes than using the on board system of key fob buttons and door lock switches that do not always work.

    17" or 18" wheels with 35s?

Don’t choose depending on this set of tires. You may want a different type/style for your next set. Look at every tire option out there. I found even C rated ride rough unless aired down to around 28 psi with 285/70R17. For what you state the most use will be, my opinion is to go with 17”...

What is the largest spare tire size that can be mounted with a 17" OEM wheel?

I have 285/70R17 on stock wheels and it clears my bumper just fine. On the hubs I have 1.25” spacers with no rubbing. 2009

We got 8” last month that all melted. Last night in the Minneapolis area maybe 2”. Northern MN has 8-10” I think I heard on the news. This may stay til spring. Broke my foot before finished cleaning garage and now my JK is out in the snow.

My boys are coming over to shovel in a couple hours. I’ll have one take a pic from the back down the side to give you a better idea.

Do any companies buy used brake calipers?

You can try to sell them like Chris said or just turn them into a part store. The’ll send them with their cores to be rebuilt. Adding more pieces to the system will eventually bring the price down.

    Coolant reservoir peanut butter

I would flush the entire system before winter. Oops. Never mind. Just saw you were in Florida. I will change that to “soon” or before the summer heat. You will want maximum cooling capacity plus then you won’t need to worry about it for a while.

I wouldn’t go any heavier on the spare without an Exogate.

I have 285/70R17 with 1.25” spacers. They are almost even with the flares. These are the best pics I have tight now. If you need better I will go out later for one. Broken foot and the ice gods are visiting Minnesota today.

Hub vs Shocks Issue - Help Please

You are correct to a point. The shocks would cause some tire wear. I believe by your description your failure to rotate is the culprit. Are the 38K miles mostly city? If so, the cupping is from when you’re turning sharp on hard surfaces or moving too fast around cloverleafs causing the outer...

Been chasing death wobble for a year

Spinning the tire in the wheel a couple inches and reseating the bead will shift the difference in the wheel’s balance point and the tire’s. Sometimes it takes many moves to get the assembly to balance with minimal weights. I also would use plenty if bead lube and inspect the bead for even...

Been chasing death wobble for a year

It is possible the bouncing stressed it. It will be hard to prove it though. I wouldn’t bring it up with the retailer either.

Replace Soft Top or Just Window?

If your top isn’t worn just the window. When the top needs replacement I think you should be able to contact Bestop and get one without windows.

Been chasing death wobble for a year

Your tire tech is wrong. Tire balance is the most likely culprit. If all your steering components are torqued to spec that’s all that is left. He needs to take the tire off the wheel and see if the wheel is true. Also the bead needs to be seated evenly. Get two of them balanced perfect for the...
