ECM parameters should be retained with keep alive or stored memory. I don't know what the time constant is, each OEM has a different strategy... I would think in the time it takes to replace a battery, or clamps, etc you would not lose anything critical. Maybe if you leave have the battery...

Yeah more basic info would be helpful. I deduced that it was a 3.6 based on statements of six cylinders, overhead cam. Left bank cam sensor is a good thought since the misfires are on cylinders 2/4/6. That would be a common cause... However, this issue seems to be common with both exhaust...

I'll state the obvious, but based on the data you provided I would say whoever installed the exhaust cams was off on the sprocket by a tooth.

Make sure they are pushed down as far as they will go. One of mine was 1/16" or so too high on the post and that was enough to cause occasional issues...
