    203 degree thermostat?

Yeah, different theories apply when you start significantly increasing heat rejection and/or have a purpose built vehicle that spends much if it's life at specific operating points.

    203 degree thermostat?

Yeah it's a definitely a balancing act. The coolant needs to spend enough time in the engine to absorb and enough time in the radiator to release. Too low of a stat and it won't stay closed long enough, too high and it won't stay open long enough.

Do you have a 2 door? If so, here is what I purchased to solve the same problem: Post in thread 'Rear seat won't stay in folded position on 2-door JK' https://wranglerjkforum.net/threads/rear-seat-wont-stay-in-folded-position-on-2-door-jk.28713/post-462671 There is a link a few posts earlier...

What did you do to your JK today?

Yeah, Houghton/Hancock are sister cities on each side of the Portage canal but very close to Lake Superior. Both are college towns and many, like myself, experienced it first hand while in school. I spent many childhood years in Grand Rapids, MI which receives lake effect snow from Lake...

What all should be replaced when you do a head gasket

Fill, cycle, and drain several times. For the oil fill you can add a quart of ATF which has a higher level of detergent in the chemistry and will help to purge the remaining coolant. Drain everything, change the oil filter, add oil and coolant. Drain and repeat. You don't have to run it...

What all should be replaced when you do a head gasket

Or the knock-off part has a casting or machining issue (core-shift, major porosity, breakthrough, etc) allowing the coolant and oil passages to cross-talk. I've experienced that even on a major brand (Edelbrock) so it is not an unlikely occurrence. Have you pulled it off and inspected it?

    2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread

I had a similar experience with a FWD Ford SVT focus. I put on a set of Michelin Artic Alpins and that thing was darn near unstoppable in anything but deep snow. It was a really fun vehicle all year! I know Blizzaks can be had in 255/75R17 and Nokians in 285/70R17 but any bigger than that...

    2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread

Around here (SE Michigan) we get a lot of ice and wet snow and I've found that M/Ts are terrible. Our quantity/depth is typically low, however. I think that's where M/Ts start to excel - when the lugs start to be useful in clawing through the deep snow. I've never had anything that...

    Random loss of electrical power

Fair point. I figured if someone is replacing them they're not going to use the same ones.

Tires for 17x7.5 stock JK Willy wheels

That size tire came stock on an OEM 17x7.5 wheel so unless the OPs Wrangler is a super sagger it should be fine. I think when the time comes for new shoes I'll be rocking 255/80R17s. Yes, I like pizza.
