The only thing I would have to offer is a problem with the electrical harness, wasn't there something to do with the way the harness was routed around the back of the engine to the right side. I don't remember which engine it was but thought it was the 3.6.

Did you try a ECM reset?

The vehicle not in park could be the shifter bushings are bad, have you tried starting it in neutral?

No leave them, you only need to clean and inspect the old ones. When 12v's leave the Positive Post on the Battery it has to be able to return to the Negative Post on the Battery for the circuits to work.

You just need about a 10 or 12ga wire with eye terminals on both ends and bolt one end to the neg. terminal and the other to a case bolt on the alternator.

^^^^^^This^^^^^ But if it was mine I'd just repair what you know needs it and put back together without doing the HG's. You'll know shortly if there is more damage that could be the HG's or something even worse.

I'd think it would be at the rear, doesn't make sense for it to go all the way from the taillights to the front between the seats. If you can do this easy just probe the ground wire at the taillights and put it to a good ground at the taillights just to see if they work. That would let you know...

The junk Factory battery clamps is the biggest issues, try replacing them with some HD ones.

Have you tried removing the trailer connector harness to see if the problem could be there?

There are ground studs on the insides of the fenders in the engine compartment and inside at the footwells, have you cleaned them? It's hard telling how Chrysler did all there grounds.

Have you checked the wiring harness from the tail lights to wherever they go into the body for chewed spots or broken wires? Squirrels, rats and mice like chewing wires.
