    Gascap light

I am thinking the same thing right now. I did some googling last night and the part does not look like it is replaceable. I'll take another look at the leak later today and clean it up a little. Once I can see things better, I will chart a path. Used tanks are $$!

    Gascap light

I did a smoke test today and found a leak. It looks like it was repaired before with epoxy or something. What is a good fix? Should I epoxy it again or replace the neck, if that is possible....

    120VAC inverters on the trail

do you plan to use more than one 100ah lifpo4 battery? Sounds like a very good setup. The lifepo4's charge faster too. 100w panel is a good balance for a 100ah battery.

    120VAC inverters on the trail

Ya, now your gonna have to hold my hand through the project! I love rock crawling and tough trails but also like the overlanding aspect of trail readiness. It is often the case to pass rock crawlers on the trail taking a break and sitting on rocks while eating packaged sandwiches. All good but...

    120VAC inverters on the trail

OK, tJKrider, you have caused me to do a much broader project than I had hoped, shame on you :sneaky: With the 1k inverter, it is more than a "carry along" piece of equipment. I am going to mount it under the back seat, probably on the passenger side. The included remote will make it super easy...

    120VAC inverters on the trail

Power windows era? Lol. Oddly enough but my 07 rubicon has crank windows and no power locks. It does have power steering.

    120VAC inverters on the trail

Like the oem on newer vehicles? Lol none of my vehicles have luxurious features. My wife’s suv has a 200w inverter that handles Christmas lights ok. It always works which is one of my issues doing diy installs. That said, a quality aftermarket install will probably be better performing but maybe...

    120VAC inverters on the trail

What type of system are you planning? A small dash mount type or a larger outside type?

    120VAC inverters on the trail

Could not pass that deal up. It was $150 with taxes and shipping. Much better than the new pd1610 which is $400. American made too! It’s on its way. Thx for the link. Edit: saved 100 bucks...

    Looking for a little advice

Can you post some pics of the project, or maybe a few pre project with some details? My job is fabrication, I build automated welding and cutting machines but also do a lot of Jeep fabrication on my own rigs. I’ve learned that pics on forums are like gold. It gets people thinking. I’ll step...

    120VAC inverters on the trail

Just did some research on the PD 1000w unit. Looks like it is newish to the brand. I like everything but the price! I suspect it is one of those "you get what you pay for" items though. It does not have any receptacles, which means it is a hardwired deal. I kinda like that as I usually put the...

    120VAC inverters on the trail

Good info. I looked into the Samlex brand a little. My needs are under 1k watt. I think a 600-700 watt with a 1k surge would be fine. What general size inverters are the truck forum guys using? The issue I am seeing with a lot of these (non industrial) inverters is they just stop working and...

    120VAC inverters on the trail

What are DIY guys using for 12vdc to 120vac inverters? I know the jackery and bluetti all in ones are popular, but how about us DIY guys? I have used tripplite in the past. Is there a better inverter brand out there now? I am looking for a inverter to couple with my 100ah lifpo4 battery I...

Anyone know what this noise might be?

One of my employees has a GC SRT 8 and he is picking up his Jeep today for the same reason. We could not get the squeak to stop and he finally sent it in for a rotor turn and pads ($$), It happens.

Anyone know what this noise might be?

I cannot hear it. Does it do it while in gear and driving, parked revving the engine, more when turning? Does it go away at a certain speed or RPM? the serpentine belt path is a good place to start with whines. Mechanics stethoscope, These really work:

How to Replace the Clockspring on a Jeep Wrangler JK

    My 2016 JKU overland build

Really like the drawer/shelf system. How do you access the fridge? Does it slide? The power supply looks like it has plenty of uses and plenty of power. 85ah is a good number for overlanding, especially with that solar panel. Lunch time is a good time to soak up some power, an hour or so and you...
