BFGoodrich AT vs MT road noise?

That's what my JKU came with. The ines that are trashed. Which is a shame cause there is olenty of tread left. Its just feathered to death. I would have bought them for my TJ could I have afforded them. And the Falkans not gone on sale. I think your right. I'm gonna wait for a set of used k02s...

BFGoodrich AT vs MT road noise?

No. I don't need MTs. I am just in dire need of new tires. So was considering everything including this cheap pair of used MTs. But after further research and reading your comment. I'm going to stick to ATs. I had Falkan ATs on my TJ I just sold. But they are now around $250. I got mine for $165...

    Surplus hard top loft storage?

I discovered a great solution for dog hair and general vehicle carpet clean up yesterday. Rubber gloves. I used the cheap Harbor Freight blue ones and it was amazing. You put the gloves on and wipe the carpet with them. It pulls up not only dog hair. But every piece of crumb, fiber or debris out...

Jeep Wrangler JK: How to Refurbish Faded Fenders and Bumpers

This may be the best test of fender flare restoration methods and chemicals. I have researched this extensively for general automobile exterior plastic restoration. And successfully used the winning method on various makes and midels of vehicles. Including the TJ. Long story short - plastic...

    Surplus hard top loft storage?

Would this make a cool loft storage to hang in the top of a JK hardtop? It's 30’’ long x 20’’ wide. Tie strings measure 17’’ long. Only $12 for two of them. But shipping on top of that. I have not measured but will this afternoon. *Actually today's sale email says these are $7.95 for a set if...

Warped cylinder head or blown head gasket??

No idea about the heater core. I would not use anything but mopar parts. Unless someone knows something better. I took it by my mechanic today. Went over with him whats happening. I'm taking it back on Tuesday to have codes pulled and diagnose issues. Did not notice as much coolant smell...

Warped cylinder head or blown head gasket??

I'm hoping to take it to my mechanic tomorrow. But my wife had a heart transplant. And most of my time is taken up by caring for her. I checked the fluids and carpet at the firewall tonite. No wetness at all on the carpet. Super dry. Coolant looks good. Plenty in the reservoir. And I took a pic...

How to search for a used engine?

It wasn't me. But while researching engines I came across more than one person who had problems with Jasper. One guy took two years to get a refund on his engine. And others had issues too. IIRC the Jasper engine only has a 3 yr warranty. And is the same price as the Powertrain. But the...

Warped cylinder head or blown head gasket??

Could this explain overheating while going up long hills? Maybe the previous owners assumption that it was a blown head gasket is wrong?

Warped cylinder head or blown head gasket??

The heater core was recently replaced. So I'm pretty sure at least the head gasket is leaking coolant. If not the head being warped as well. I'll check the carpet. But the smell comes in randomly every 15 to 30 minutes maybe. And it doesn't matter if the fan or ac is on or off. I have not turned...

How to search for a used engine?

If I had the cash I'd buy a Powertrain for $5300 with the 5 yr warranty. But then your into it over $7000 with shipping. I may do this if I can wait longer. It runs fine. But there is a god awful coolant smell in the cabin. I looked into Jegs and the others and found terrible reviews about...

Warped cylinder head or blown head gasket??

When you say "blow" do you mean fluids immediatley start blowing out from the pressure? Or it can be a small leak? My Jeep only loses very small amounts of coolant. And the cab stinks of it. No matter if ac or fan is off or on.

How to search for a used engine?

Searching for a used engine for a 2012 JKU. Car-parts.com lists a 2018 Jeep JK engine with 75k for $2850. From a fairly well known Jeep salvage yard in Indiana called Baseline 4x4. Says it was tested and ran. Includes pics of the vehicle and motor. And vin so I can run a carfax. I have a few...

Warped cylinder head or blown head gasket??

How can you tell the difference between a warped cylinder head and a blown head gasket? Without tearing it down? 2012 JKU, 120k miles. All stock. Good maintenance and vehicle history. Runs fine. No rough idle. Overheats two or three needles width on long hills. Otherwise no overheating around...

2012 JKU 3.6l engine "tick". Out of warranty.

Ya. I know. I'd be looking for another year to find one this cheap and this condition. And I'm tired of looking for car deals. It is a gamble though. I pick it up tomorrow. So we'll see. I guess I've made the decision to roll the dice. But with almost $6000 of discount to play with I could put...

How to cut 10hrs from lifter/rocker replacement.

This mechanic shows a detailed method of replacing the lifters and rocker arms. That will cut about 10hrs from the procedure. I may show this to my mechanic and see if he's willing to do it this way. It could cut the cost of the repair substantially. But there's no reason the average guy...
