Agree with this. Keep them if you like the look and they aren't going to get ripped off where you will travel.

What size are your 33s? Are they metric - like a 285/70r17 or a 33x12.50? It has a nice stance to it, whatever size they are!

Does it really matter which brand for mods?

Not quite all, but definitely dominated by the Chinese: https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/worlds-top-10-steelmakers-2023-12-19/ Russia is in the mix too to a lesser degree. At one point they owned the formerly Ford owned Rouge Steel but I think that has changed hands again...

ESC and check engine light come on and lose power while towing a trailer

I realize this is an old thread, but I read thru it since there is a new and possibly similar issue occurring. I would be inclined to look at the rear tires. Age, wear, damage, etc. If there is one that is suspect and it's loaded with a trailer it may create traction issues. If I...

    Shake at 30 mph

You can try a different trans gear at the same vehicle speed to rule that out, assuming the issue follows vehicle speed... Could be driveshaft balance or a u-joint. Your comment about lifting off the gas, however, makes me lean towards either a driveshaft u-joint or pinion bearing. Those tend...

@Cimmerian just read your intro post and I have a better understanding of your comment. Since you have an 07 Auto you have the 2.84 first gear. Mine is a 16 Auto with a 3.59 first gear. Overdrive also isn't as severe (.69 vs .83) and I have an extra gear in between. Based off first...

Welcome! I didn't realize you could ever get 4.10s in a JK Sahara. Very cool. I learned something today!

You folks either have incredibly high standards or are speaking only from an extreme off-road and/or rock crawling perspective. For reference my auto 2dr with 32" tires and 3.21 is very enjoyable to drive on road. The same vehicle with 3.73s and 35s has more mechanical advantage than mine...

Exactly. Some shops will distinguish between a fluid replacement and a flush. Try to find one that will actually do the filter replacement as well regardless of what they call it... I say that having zero experience with doing this on a Wrangler, but on Ford vehicles new fluid was the...

I found mine on FB Marketplace. My net price was $150 for 4 springs and shocks off of a Rubicon with 7k miles on them. Couldn't pass it up. If you can't find some good take-offs (low mileage JK stuff is harder to find for obvious reasons) I would go with a set of Bilstein 4600s...

Headlight Issue for new used Jeep owner

Do those aftermarket headlights have plug and play connectors to the factory harness or are they spliced in somehow? Did you install them or were they already there when you purchased the vehicle? I would start from the headlight and start tracing back to see if there is any visible wire damage.

What is not stock about his rig? I agree with @BLACKJKU regarding pressure. What tire is your buddy running and what pressure? That would a good comparison. For reference I just swapped my OEM Sahara springs/shocks for OEM Rubicon springs/shocks and the ride improved in my mind, but...

That is sound advice. I would be inclined to have a fluid flush done first and see if the situation improves.

Thx. With 35's and stock gearing (my assumption) you are putting more stress on the transmission and powertrain in general. Depending on how long those have been on it could be part of the root cause for the relatively early failure. Do you happen to know what final drive gear ratio you...
