Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

Much like many touted bulled penetration statistics that are stated as fact, while I agree that a 45 to the head is never recommended. Guns, reloading and shooting are another major hobby. The idea of spacers (good ones, properly made and properly fitted) should cause no additional stress to...

JKU hesitates and sputters when accelerating at low RPMs

"spray clean throttle body" I would almost always first start with a more through cleaning and possibly new injectors. That many miles means you have some build up in the injector and it may not be nebulizing the fuel well until it is under greater pressure. Especially, in a cold start state...

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

On this point "your JKU looks like the stance has a rake back to front", I do feel like mine has more than I notice in others. Not sure if this is just a byproduct of spring sag at 75,000 miles or something that was initially inherent. The shocks are really rusted and pitted and in bad need of...

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

Would love to know your thinking behind this, being that spacers are used so frequently and have been used for so long?

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

I also noticed that the new Rubicon’s are coming with the 285/70R17 on the 17x7.5 rims. I may decide to switch back to the stock rim and add spacers.

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

Yea, I knew that would not be everyone's cup of tea, and I wanted that. I like a more utilitarian almost military look.

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

So I am trying to decide if I have regrets regarding my relatively quick decision on wheels and tires. It came faster than I expected after getting my 2015 JKU Rubicon two weeks ago as I kinda fell into it bass-ackwards. I really liked the look of these wheels but did not account for their...

Very upset that car wash damaged my Jeep

You ran it through a automatic wash with a roof rack on the top? Not sure that would be advisable in any way, shape or form. I could see that being a thousand kinds of potential for things getting jacked up. Factory rack or not, it is a rack framework going through something that twirls around...

What did you do to your JK today?

Yea, that was what I was thinking too. I am taking it a different direction from the previous owner. Oh, and thanks on the bumper comment, I much prefer the look of the bumper too. Fixed a ding on one side too. However, once you do this and realize just how paper thin even the metal is under...

What did you do to your JK today?

Stubby bumper conversion done and billet hood latches. Trying to decide if I pull the Cyclopes light bar off the bumper. It was on there when I bought it and it works fine, just not all that jazzed on how it looks.

What is the biggest size tire I can fit with no lift on a Jeep Wrangler JK?

I also found this that is now one of my favorite web sites ever. This link shows the difference between the stock rim/tire combo on my Rubicon and the new wheel and tire size. https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=255-75-17X7.5ET45&wheel2=285-70-17X9.5ET-12&fcl=25mm&wcl=80mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm

What did you do to your JK today?

Added Mammoth Militant 17x9.5 wheels and found out my stock tires would not fit the wider wheel. So had to get new tires too. Luckily Discount gave me a pretty good trade in on my existing tires and a deal on a set of BFG All Terrain KO2's 285/70R17. Have done a few other small bit's and bobs on...

What is the biggest size tire I can fit with no lift on a Jeep Wrangler JK?

@Chris, thanks for the awesome job compiling the sizing information. Very well done. One thing I do not see mentioned much, and I ran into today, is wheel width. The stock 17” wheel on my 2015 JKU Rubicon is a 7.5” wide rim. That coupled with the negative offset of the stock rim was not...

    Easy 2” Lift With Shocks

Correction, I just remeasured and now the front is 36” to the bottom of the fender center hub and the rear is 37.5”.

    Easy 2” Lift With Shocks

So the wheels came in today and when I went to have them mounted. The shop would not put the stock tires on a 9.5” rim. So I haggled into a set of 285/70R17’s. They are riding ok and not rubbing. However the front still seems really low to me. It is about an inch lower, which seems off based on...

    Easy 2” Lift With Shocks

I really appreciate everyone’s input. The pic’s have been very helpful. I am still on the fence about what I am going to do. I think I am going to begin with a bit wider wheel (9.5) to begin with and then up the tire size to either 275 or 285/70r17 and see how I like it at stock height. If it is...
