    3.6 Pentastar Misfire on Cylinders 1, 3, & 5

Insane how similar these issues, I found multiple forums dealing with this specific issue with no-one figuring it out and just trading in the car. There is no magic, has to be something that can be diagnosed.

Did you attach a scanner? do you know which cylinders specifically are misfiring?

No they are still working on it, Keith - service manger said they are determined. Oh sure I can drive with CEL's, but why? been driving 30 year not having engine light on in any of my cars without immediately taking care of it - I think at this point its a matter of principle. Honestly, I am...

Actually so far they determined that its not Heads, Spark plugs, wires or coils....Which I determined before. But they capped diagnostics at 500, so at least that

And remember its only Cyl 1 and 2 which are opposite banks - so that really should rule out fuel rail since cyl 2 is right at the feed, BUT both cylinders are closes to oil actuators...what else?

Wait - I did not say it was one stop issue. It keeps misfiring Cyl 1 and 2 at idle all the time. As soon as I raise idle speed top say 850 misfire goes away. Btw - I am one of those guy who either replaced parts with OEM mopar or superior. - NGK spark, MSD Coils, upgraded Oil filter housing -...

I dont think engine light is an issue, considering that it runs perfect on road, my question will it pass emissions with misfire?

At this point it has been 3 days at the dealer and they cant figure out the issue. It started as $165 and now up to $500 as of now for diagnosing the issue. Honestly, I am not sure its worth it fixing it, I think I am better off just trading it in for Toyota, problem is - god damn engine light...

Ill tell you one thing, this is my first experience with Chrysler products and only because my 16yo talked me into it. Coming from GM v8s - super easy and reliable engines and Honda/Toyota v8s and v6s - I am thoroughly disgusted with Chrysler. People really should read the forums before buying...

HI, I have seen you all over this forum, specifically commenting on misfires - which apparently plagues pentastar engine. Whats more - for the most part all of the posts on misfires end up open ended - meaning no solution. Have you seen anyone actually resolve this mystery issue?

Well, I really cant imagine what the new engine would cost coming from dealer - I think its cheaper to just trade it in for another car. On top of it - as blackjku said - what if its not new engine? - So far mechanically engine passes all of the tests...

Update - Leak-down came in with less then 1% loss - so no problems there. Got PCM from flashmasters, same cyl1 and Cyl2 misfire at idle only. I have no idea what else could possibly cause this. SO, decided to bite the bullet and take it to a "highly rated" dealer, Garavel Jeep in Westport CT...

I wish, no go, reset ECU after new injectors install and now misfire came back as CYL#2. Interestingly enough it comes back on a second vehicle start. Meaning the first start car runs like new - no issues a r all , then I let is stand for say 2 hours start again and you can hear the misfire on...

Quick update: Opened both valve covers and checked out valves and cams - look perfect no ticking or sticking. Got all the new injectors, will install this weekend and update. Btw installing newer version of Bosch injectors from 2018-2020 model. Other forum members used them with no issues -...

Doesn't make sense, I ran a compression test and I have 150psi on all 6 cylinders - if it was stuck lifter wouldn't that cause compression issues? Really starting to hate Chrysler products. Coming from v8 GMs and Toyotas - never even heard of these issues.
