I agree, 1st uphill, reverse downhill. Actually I try to park on level terrain if possible. When parking along curb or along roadway/trail edge, good idea to keep wheels turned into curb/safe zone.

I agree with others you'll be most happy w 56s or 88s w auto and if you don't have a Rubi. I have a Rubi w/ 4.10s, manual and 35s. This is fine for street/highways and with the 4:1 T/C there's plenty of power for any offroading.

Jeepjeezy, yes, I think I'll go with your idea, seems simplest, meets my needs. Thanks. My understanding is if I lock door, without using remote, alarm won't sound when I unlock door with metal key.

My '16 has the 2 factory remote keys but I'd like a waterproof one to take when kayaking, etc. Anyone with experience know if a plain old metal key will unlock and start the Jeep and allow it to run?

Added Quadratec door entry edge guards. Factory should have installed these, otherwise paint finish gets scratches from muddy boots.
