    Yes you can. I have mine wired into the spot switch that I just turn it on/off at will.

    Buy or pass on undercarriage rust?

    Don't look horrible but also looks like somebody has tried to cover it up and may have lots of hidden rust. I would pass. being 94,000 and located in MI and PA means lots of salt being packed into those pockets and inside of frame.

    I don't think the base plates will work on a JL. Go to Etrailer and check what part numbers are interchangeable

    Mine has been installed for about 2 years now and no problems. Straps are holding tight. Mine is a Van Top 12" no longer available.

    Thats pretty much what I did for the rearview mirror. Mine just straps to the factory mirror. It works great and has a better view. I wired mine into a spot switch.

    Also tire size and type can cause bad handling/steering issues. Tall skinny are better than real wide
