Jeep shutting off at idle and dealership couldn't help

You haven't said what engine you have but, IIRC, in 2012 Chrysler introduced the 3.6L into the Wrangler line. That has a normal idle range between around 650 and 700 RPM, maybe a little higher. If you have a tachometer, check to see what it reads when the engine is properly warmed, and...

    Turning a New Shift Knob

Not threading the shifter is one truly weird design decision that I have never understood about my Jeep.

Jeep shutting off at idle and dealership couldn't help

I'm not certain what "shutting off" means, but it sounds like you are having problems stalling. If you have a tachometer, what RPM is the engine trying to idle at. The stalling at no or low loads sound like a timing, fuel, or vacuum problem. If you can, check the OBDII codes. Often you can...

2016 JKU problem with the Cats

That error code could be a fairly long list of exhaust related problems. You want to check the possible causes, or have someone who knows Wranglers do it before loading the parts cannon. That code is specific to bank 2 for whatever that's worth.

2016 JK Anyone have their dash warning lights and chime come on in a spasm for a few seconds

I don't believe that the ESC is supposed to stay on. Is it on all the time? If it is, then you should get that checked out. The other lights are both related to the brake system, so maybe there is a circuit problem that should be chased down. I have a manual so thing are a little different.

It's comical how little you appreciate it at the time, but decades later you can sit around a table with your buddies, tell stories about when you were young, and see who gets a free beer.

Need Bumper Ideas for New 2017 Bumper with No Winch

It was certainly a memorable project. A good deal of the frame straightening was at night when dad could judge the color of the hot steel. Then he'd point where to swing the hammers and my brother and I would strike. Light was from Coleman lanterns. It was fall in the northern California...

Need Bumper Ideas for New 2017 Bumper with No Winch

Honestly the best bumper on something I ever drove was built by my dad. My mother wrecked the truck. We hauled it home. Between my dad, my brother and I, we jacked the cab back mostly square - doors and windows worked. Dad used an acetylene, torch and my brother an I on sledge hammers banged...

That is certainly less expensive. I have come to think that steel between me and the whack jobs on the road is a good thing. I have my 2016 Hard Rock because I was T-boned by a landscaping pickup and trail. I was driving a stock Rubicon 2015, and the only thing that kept the pickup from...

    Steering dampner help

The air dam should not affect the entire vehicle, even loose. It should be tightened up though. If you can, take a look at the alignment between the track bar and the drag link. They should be nearly parallel. You say the system is not lifted, but is there a chance that one or both were...

Need Bumper Ideas for New 2017 Bumper with No Winch

Most bumpers on JKs can accept a winch. I would suggest looking at the OEM steel bumpers the Rubicon special editions like the Hard Rock, Recon, 10th Anniversary, and X editions come with. The end caps can be removed with the right Torx drivers in about five to ten minutes. At the same time...

Is this a Transmission problem?? (Help)

Just out of curiousity, if the transmission is an automatic, something might have triggered the "limp home" mode. In limp mode the transimission stick in second, but Park, Neutral and Reverse should still work. Limp mode can be turned oiff according to the manual as follows: "In the event of...

What goes here between the rear fender and the rear bumper?

Broken first, fixed afterward. There's a story that after the end of WW II, a soldier in Paris built a working Jeep out of parts from wrecked or non-functioning Jeeps. He had to chain it up to keep it from being "borrowed."

What goes here between the rear fender and the rear bumper?

Just take it out on a trail a couple of times. Pretty is temporary. So is finish. Remember Jeeps were invented to be broken.

Coolant leak and flushing radiator questions

First, look up exactly what coolant type your engine requires. Do not mix types!!! Doing so creates a gel (I guess that's what you would call it) that will thoroughly stodge up your system and engine. There are two types and HOAT and OAT. Do not blend them, or mix them with water unless...

Coolant leak and flushing radiator questions

That is certainly what that looks like. The geometry of the leak looks like it developed after the vehicle was parked, may just after a trip while the engine was still hot. If that's the reservoir on the right, then it looks like your coolant is low too.
