    Wandering steering on 2013 JKU

Not sure about the Sahara, but checking the stabilzer bar (steering damper) does seem like a good step. Have you noticed if there much bump steer? When you run over a rough spot in the road does the steering wheel jump try to turn side to side? You can also check while parked by straightening...

    Phantom drivability problem

You don't mention your jeep is throwing any codes or not. But even if it isn't, you might want to check the EVAP system, the fuel pump, and perhaps the various vacuum lines. Also, in the tank IIRC, the actual intake can get cranky and if, as you say, cloth was found in the tank, you might also...

Need a good Trail Map app

There are a number of apps that are pretty good. The apps I have tried are onX and Gaia, and both do the job. Any app you get should be able to operate without an cell/internet connection. Every app I've looked at adds functionality when you pay for the non-free version. That said, I've...

New Axle Shaft won’t go in

Since the difference in the holes or sockets at the end might be making the difference, if you can look with a good light where the end should seat, you might be able to figure out what the trouble is. Probably dismantle at least partially the differential and look from there if you need to.

    Camshaft Position Sensor Codes

The failure as the engine comes up to operating temperature sounds like an increased electrical resistance. So, perhaps check the wiring for faults in the insulation before doing anything more heroic. Since your codes all focus on the sensor circuit, you can't just focus on the sensor. The...

Squirrels chewing small hose going to gas filler area. What is it?

If you have an OBD reader you may find a code related to the EVAP emmission control system. There is normally a line running from the tank forward to in front of the catalytic converter somewhere, where fuel vapor can be combusted when the vehicle is running. It limits your gasoline...

Looking at buying my first JK and down to a 07 and 13. What to look for in regard to problem areas and help me assess the value!

It is kind of hard to pin these issues down. Price and mileage tend to correlate inversely. Other things enter the picture such as just what you plan to do with it. My own bottom line wish was for a manual shift. Where I live they are thin on the ground. When my 2015 Rubicon was T-boned...

Rough idle after tune up and belt replacement

Did you double check that the plugs are properly seated? Also, did you do anything with the injectors. The OBDC codes are easy enough to look up and "seem" to indicate two problems: one with an overly lean fuel air mixture leading to misfires, and one having to do with the EVAP system, and...

2014 JKU bogging down when passing on highway after warmed up

One posswibility would be that you are running slightly too rich at high revs and load. That would suggest there simply isn't the necessary airflow or fuel flow. The Mass Air Flow sensor can be troublesome, and not necessarily throw a code. That would be something to check.

How do I determine how much lift my Jeep Wrangler JK has?

Changing the lift alters the geometry of the way several critical parts of the suspension and steering move together. These need to be adjusted to eliminate things like "death wobble." Getting them adjusted is probably far cheaper than replacing them.

How much lift my Jeep Wrangler JK has?

I sympathize. I've had the same confusion with mine. A 14-inch spring suggests about 4.5 inches. What size tires are you running.

I’m going broke and insane (and need help diagnosing my Jeep)

It sounds like fuel starvation or excess under load. When you reduce the demand the power band remains where it ought to to be. When you put the hammer down, you are increasing fuel flow and air intake, or should be. If either or both are slightly off high demand will enhance the effect...

    Jerry can mount

Does anyone have recommendations for an external mount for a NATO standard Jerry can? Suggestions are great.

How many people with manual transmissions start out by using second gear instead of first gear?

I have a '16 Rubicon and stgock size tires. Second tends to be a little slow on flat ground let alone up hill, so I use first.

What gears will work best with 35s and highway driving?

My Rubicon is pretty much opposite that, though I'm running 32s. The city ranges 14-16, but highway and freeway can get up to around 20-22, depending on the wind. If your freeway mileage is lower than stop and go, I would suggest looking at some calibrations to check that. The 70 mph tach...

    33’s vs 35’s fuel economy

Or you could get one of the 4xe's. They get very decent around-town mileage, though mainly because your paying an electric bill instead. They also have a reduced gasoline tank, so, on a long trip you'll revert to typical Jeep mileage and even need to stop more frequently than a straight gasoline.

New to Wrangler and looking for some guidance.

I added a locking fuel door to my '15, https://www.extremeterrain.com/rugged-ridge-locking-gas-cap-door-blk-0717.html. The gas cap stayed stock.

How do I determine how much lift my Jeep Wrangler JK has?

I tracked down the source of the diagram provided by Chris at the top: http://dynatrac.ru/pdfs/Choosing_the_right_housing_revC.pdf Curiously, unless I've lost my ip saavy - possible, been a long time. that "... .ru" in the web address indicates a Russian site, or at least in the former USSR.

    Head liners?

Thanks. I notice that there seem to be OEM as well, which seems curious. Looking at the link there are sound barriers too. What're your general impressions?

    Head liners?

Does anyone have any suggestions for head liners for hard top JKs or JKUs? I notice, being somewhat taller than average that it gets really hot near the roof on sunny days.
