Double D’s (DrDmoney and wife D——-‘s) 2017 JKUHR

This compressor easily fits under the mount and is less obtrusive than the engine bay or under seat mounting options. It also moves the inflation operation to the back where the air hose is kept. After cutting the aluminum bracket to fit, I drilled and tapped it for all fasteners. I wanted the...

I wanted to install an O.B.A. system for tire inflation, I chose the ARB CKMA12 High Output Air Compressor. This compressor’s sole use will be tire inflation and the ARB single is more than capable of this task. I had done lots of research on mounting locations for compressors in the JKU and...

For winching I installed the Warn Zeon Platinum 10S, I run this same winch on my TJ and I can’t say enough about it’s performance.

When I removed the CHMSL, I also did the spare tire mount license plate using LED light bolts on the plate to replace the CHMSL followed by PSC Bruiser Bumpers. I removed the 10A bumpers and put them with the rest of my Jeep parts. Install was textbook per the instructions

The spare was a little low on the factory mount, the lift comes with an adapter to move the tire up but it also moves it out farther, also the CHMSL had to go. I made my own tire adapter that moved the tire out only1/2”

So I’ve never owned a Jeep that I left stock, this one made it 800 miles before the AEV 3.5” DualSport lift was installed, it comes with Bilstein 5160’s and a ProCal Module. Wheels are Fuel JM2 Jeremy McGrath Signature Series and tires are NITTO Ridge Grapplers

Talk me out of 4.88 re-gear

I ran 35's on a D30 for years with no extra work done to it, albeit the JKU is much heavier than my TJ. After all Jeep has learned from the JK's predecessors, I dont think they would have kept it if they thought it wouldnt handle a 35. to your question, dont waste your money beefing it up if...

no the 3.6 has good power, even though i didnt regear when i went to 35's the ProCal module allows you to reconfigure shift points for your set up and recalibrates the speedo.

his gear ratio currently is 3.21:1 not sure what the factory tire size was for his model I would agree, if the OP was going to go to 35's 4.56's are appropriate.

if we went by the way the factory set mine up, it would be; 32" tire 1:1 4th gear = 70 mph @ 3014 rpm 0.83:1 5th gear = 70 mph @ 2501 rpm

some would say 4.56 isn't enough but coupled with the auto and dropping to 35" tires, I would say its just right. you're probably (hopefully) at 3.73:1 now or worse 3.21:1 with 37's, how does it drive?

I live in the mountains and my wife daily drives the JKU to work from 2000 foot elevation where we live to over 5000'. it has an automatic with stock 4.10:1 gears with 35" tires. it pulls the hills great and has plenty of power. my lift is only 3.5"
