Does it really matter which brand for mods?

So I am looking into some mods. Fenders, and all of that jazz. I love DV8 and Barricade… I have had a few people tell me to stay away from DV8 because their products always rust.
however I have read the same thing about some barricade products. Is there a better brand out there or are they all basically the same?

Hey K so I know this post is old but I'll give you some advice...LONG AFTER THE PRICE IS FORGOTTEN THE QUALITY STILL REMAINS..

It's all Chinese steel nowadays, I think the only difference is vendor QC and how you use it.

As I've said elsewhere, just the realities of the global economy. Nothing is truly "American made" anymore just American assembled.

There are still several company’s here in the states making jeep parts. Like stated above, they are going to cost you a little more.

For example, my current obsession is getting my heap ready for 37s and bigger rocks. As such, I have been purchasing a lot of armor from Outta Hand Fabrication. They are also helping me make the right purchases as I go…great people to deal with and 100% American made.

Edit to say, I don’t know where the steel came from. :ROFLMAO:

My Stinger bumper is from Affordable Offroad. I can tell it's a quality part and the steel is THICK but I have no idea if it's US steel or not. Their website only says hand built in the US. It's a lot thicker than my rear stub bumper from Rugged Ridge which I *know* is Chinese. That being said, my D-rings are connected directly to the frame in the rear so I don't care about the Chinese bumper.

Yes, it's very true you get what you pay for but I just don't think it's worth agonizing over brands unless you're doing real wheeling which lets be honest, a lot of people don't.

I’m a real rock crawler….that is, until I see what real crawlers do. :ROFLMAO:

I really do enjoy being a part of and watching the progression of off roaders. When we started small ledges would have the wife out and walking, now she is playing on her phone when she should be paying attention.

Man, I just tried to do a sensible set up for most things while still being able to retain just taking the thing out for drives or errands.

Muh real rock crawler stuff is like $30 grand in differentials and 7 in a proper suspension then another 2 in tires. Too expensive for my blood for just a toy.
