Anybody know what these are called and what they do. I got this Jeep about a month ago and can't find any details on them anywhere

Mine wiggle too much, the screws at the mirrors never stay tight.
I had the same issues. I replaced the hand screw with stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. I also put blue Loctite on the screws that hold the mirror itself in place. They haven't moved in over a year.

I solved the issue at the window frame, just got vice-grips and tightened that thing down. Never thought about the Loctite at the mirror screws. Are you still able to adjust the mirrors for different drivers? I’ve had to loosen the screws to adjust it, which is why I think they don’t stay tight. The mirrors are hanging in the garage so may give it another shot with this idea, assuming I take the doors off for the 17 year that is driving it now. I usually drive the LJ around, I really like driving it around.

I haven't had to adjust the mirrors. I'm the only one who drives it. My wife is deathly afraid to drive it after running over the front end of another car that she never saw.
