New ball joint wont sit all the way

Replacing ball joints. I got the lower one in all the way but the upper one won't seat all the way. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Odds are something is misaligned or damaged. Pull it apart and start over. Check for burrs.

Got it seated finally. I was using the wrong collar for the bj press. Once I used the correct one it went in the rest of the way.
