So...lift struts on my 2012 JK ... bought some on Amazon...they work but I was hoping not to mash my head every time...

Any suggestions on a strut with more lift or a mod to make the glass lift higher?

It doesn't look like they are extending all the way. Will the window lift higher if you was to help it go up more?

The glass on my '14 goes beyond 90 degrees and at 6'6" I can stand underneath. Sure, there's 2.5" of lift, but that's only a true 2".

I think he ordered the wrong year, there are different lengths for the different models.

You might just try the OEM struts. They lift high enough for me to more around. Of course I'm only 6 2.

Anyone have a link or a hint for what to search for?

Everything I'm typing in comes up with tons of em on Amazon and eBay. Might try one of the Mopar parts giant websites.

My 2010 OEM gives me Pico MM head space. I am 6ft, and if I put my wife's heals on (Correction work boots, she just retired from Home Depot Canada after 27yrs) I will hit the lip. In my defense, keep the Goodyear Wrangler Territorys 225/75/16 on. ( Great for the winters here ). Those 17in ALs have been in my basement for over 10yrs.

Ok...ordered up a set of Mopar lift struts...dealer wanted $73 each and my wife talked them down to $50 each.

They are identical in size, shape and performance to the $27 for a pair Amazon units...but I hope these will last longer.

I'm thinking ultimately the solution is a Metalcloak Game Changer lift kit...i was on the fence between 2.5" and 3.5" since the cost is similar...favoring going taller just to avoid wacking my head every time. I'm only 5' 10".

However I am still on the hunt for a cheap solution...I might try adding an inch of threaded rod to the shaft with a coupler nut.
