    Newbie wanting overland build advice

Good advice. I think just saying "overlanding" paints a really broad picture so it's hard to provide a one size fits all answer. @Redneckish no disrespect meant and I appreciate your initial question and effort to obtain some lessons learned. More info on what your actual usage would look...

    Newbie wanting overland build advice

2 door or 4 door? When all is said and done I think the 4 door provides a better platform for this type of usage. Agree. Of course, it really depends on the actual terrain you anticipate encountering and how much stuff you'll bring along, including people. I think some of the...

    WTF?

Apparently the Bronco guys like this so much they are replicating the look, too... 🤷🏻

    Might buy my first JK

Like most purchases it comes down to the asking price to determine if it's a good deal for you. I paid a bit more for mine as I wanted a later model JK to try and avoid some of the larger engine related issues. Others have purchased earlier model years for a lot less and been fine. For any...

What did you do to your JK today?

I was about the say the same thing. I assume the 3.8 heads are aluminum - there should be a helicoil to work with this. Maybe this one? https://www.amazon.com/Heli-Coil-Helicoil-5334-14-Thread-Repair/dp/B0002SRF4O?tag=wranglerorg-20

Definitely! I've learned over the years that it's a case where you pick the right tool for the job. My shed isn't finished inside so the sprayer was the ticket for all the exposed studs, etc. I wouldn't use it to paint drywall though. It might be faster for some, but not me. 😂

What did you do to your JK today?

I painted the inside of my shed last Summer using my Graco sprayer for the first time. Worked really well!

What did you do to your JK today?

Today I switched over to the "new to me" soft top. Acquired it in two purchases. The frame, brackets, surrounds, etc (and a worthless cover) was $25. A replacement cover in decent shape and tinted windows was $125. Not sure if I'm going to like this or not so I was happy to go forward...

The 3.6 in 2012 can be problematic for several reasons. The LH head had valve seat recessions issues and the well known cam/lifter issue. Do you know if either of these have been already addressed?

    Starting Issue

That's as good a thought as any! It does sound like an electrical issue to me.

    First time JK owner

Back in the late eighties I worked at a Nissan dealership. Their entry level Sentra always impressed me with its acceleration for a little sh*tbox. Essentially they used the same theory, @Anybodyhome , low final drive and a large ratio on the throttle body cam to open it quickly. Of course...

What did you do to your JK today?

My belt just started making some noise so I'm going to change it. I've heard the tensioner is a pain but I'm about to experience it for myself!

    What windshield header is this?

It's a good idea, but I wasn't planning on using this material anyway. There are a few soft top skins for sale cheap that have all the windows and are in good shape. I'll marry one of those to this frame and try it out to see if I like it or not. If I do, I'll keep my eye out for a...
