    Rim width for 295's

I had ordered 17x9 wheels for some new 295's and then later found out that these wheels had been discontinued. The manufacturer has a 17×8 available and my tire guy says they would work but he's not crazy about it. We're willing to go a different route and the Toyo Open Country R/T has approved...

    Opinions on Rancho 2.5 lift?

I put a 2.5" Teraflex suspension lift on mine and am pretty pleased so far. It was a fairly straightforward install. I was just looking for a little bit of a hike and wanted to level the front end. These tires are 255/75/17 which if aren't stock size, would be pretty close. Waiting on my wheels...

    2011 Rubicon Build

That is almost exactly what I started with only a year older. I'll be posting some pics as we get a few more things done but it's a blast to see everyone doing their thing on these Jeeps.

    Too much tire showing?

Teraflex is recommending 4.5" backspacing for the 2.5" lift. I was thinking that I might be "close enough" but chatted with them and they said you want no more than the 4.5". I am going with the 17x9, has a 5" BS. Here is the link to the wheels...

    Too much tire showing?

I guess that what I am not following is why they are recommending wheel spacers when using both my figures and the visualizer, my tires and rims both will gain over an inch of room on the inside, unless the lift will affect that a little?

    Too much tire showing?

Thanks for the tool. I guess my math was pretty spot on but this was WAY easier than drawing pictures and doing the math on the back of a cardboard box 😂

    Too much tire showing?

I guess I have to ask, how are you making that work without rubbing anywhere or are you running spacers?

    Too much tire showing?

I'll try to keep this as short as I can. We are getting ready to upgrade from the stock wheels and tires on our JKU, 2010. I have a 2.5" lift to install and we are planning on 285/70R17's on 17x9 rims with a 5" backspace, 0 offset. can also go with a 17x8 that would have a 4.89 backspace so I'd...
