Not sure that's the issue or maybe you have a different one to mine. On my window the strut mount that is on the glass is twisting because of the force of the strut when compressed. So eventually the ball mount is twisted enough the strut just pops off

Wish I had better news. I reached out a couple times and decided to remove the struts instead of paying $700 more for something that should just work. Sounds like they knew about the issue and decided not to recall the bad product and replace hardware or at least give some sort of discount. Oh well
