Instrument Cluster Draining Battery

Hey everyone,

My instrument cluster in my 2015 JK is draining the battery as per my mechanic who found the draw. If I buy used instrument cluster off ebay and plug it in will the cluster update the mileage on its own? I want an OEM not an aftermarket.

I have some shops that say they can change the mileage on the new cluster via OBD, but I am not sure if that will work long term.

Welcome to the forum. Mileage is stored in the cluster itself. So whatever the mileage from the donor Jeep you get it from will show on your Jeep. I've only swapped out 1 digital style cluster, got the mileage rolled back to match the current mileage and had no issues afterwards.
