Needed a new alternator. Swapped alternator with a new one (not rebuilt) from O’Reilys. The larger of the two.

Now door/alarm remote does not work. I had the key remote checked and it is putting off the signal. No issues with ignition. Had a new key made. It puts off a signal. But it will still not control power door locks or alarm.

All fuses and wiring have been triple checked. Everything else works as it should. I just have to manually lock and unlock doors.

Thoughts?

is this something I can do several months after install? I swapped the alternator out in September. Just now thought to pose the question on the forum.

It's apparently a thing. I didn't believe it either when people told me about it but yea, leave your battery disconnected for like 15 minutes to an hour. It apparently does a purge of the electrical system.
