Hello!
I just bought a used 2017 Wrangler Sport. Need advice on some upgrades.

* What kind of new shocks do you recommend?
* What brand of cold air intake do you recommend?
* What brand of CATBACK exhaust do you recommend? (I want my Wrangler to sound badass but not like a truck)

I appreciate any recommendations! Thank you to everyone! :)

Shocks? What will you be doing? OEM is fine if you're just mall crawling or going from A to B.

CAI? Waste of money.

Catback? Waste of money.

X2 to this.

All of what you're after is a waste of money. A CAI and a catback will provide little to no horsepower gain (negligible at best) and the only reason you need new shocks is if you plan on lifting it, at which point I would then ask you how much of a lift, what size tires, and what do you plan to do with it?

True regarding horsepower, but the OP mentioned he wanted a more aggressive sound than stock. A cat back can fulfill this want. I don't have any first hand experience but I know others on here have done this.

I don't think the 3.6 sounds very aggressive is the problem ;)

That's subjective obviously, but whenever I hear them with exhausts they don't sound very good.

So the shocks on the 2017 are original - so you both recommend NOT replacing them?

If they are leaking or riding poorly, then I would replace them.

Shocks are subjective though, they really are. If you want a softer ride go with a shock like the Rancho RS5000X. If you want a firmer / sportier ride go with something like the Fox or Bilsteins.

I disagree - have had Catback and CAI on other vehicles and they both improve horsepower.

They do improve horsepower, but mainly at the peak where you have the highest airflow. Most people aren't driving near that point for very long, especially in a Wrangler. Most vehicles designed in the last 10 or 15 years provide very little benefit with induction and cold side exhaust changes. Now if you take a Fox3 Mustang, it's a different story. 😉

Welcome to the forum!

I am running a Pypes High Ground Clearance cat back. At highway speeds, I get some drone but nothing turning the radio up or the windows down to hear the hum of my tires doesn't drown out.

As far as shocks, that all depends on what you plan on doing with your Jeep.

I have a no name "CAI" on my Jeep with a TB spacer. I feel the only thing it does is makes a whistle sound at certain RPMS.

Respectfully, the Wrangler is a brick on wheels. It's a off-road vehicle with very few creature comforts, not your '98 Civic.
