I want to replace my clutch and fly wheel on 08 JK but there are so many different variations. Any recommendations?

From what I was finding a 10.4" clutch is stock, so I really doubt if you'll be able to get a very much bigger one in there then that.

Don't trust the Luk throw out bearings, their flywheels, clutch discs and pressure plates are great however. I luckily ordered a National throw out bearing when I ordered the Luk kit. The Luk TB was milled off-center which gave it an unusable elliptical orbit. I'm not sure if this holds true on the JK clutches.

My TOB just went out last night... on the way to our anniversary dinner. Good thing it got us home. I’m going to call my mechanic tomorrow, hopefully he’ll do it (he hates working on Chrysler/Dodge vehicles). Otherwise, I’ll have the dealer do it.

I heard that the LUK TOB/TBs have plastic parts, is that true? If so, should I have my mechanic order a LUK clutch kit and a separate National TOB? He orders his parts from Carquest/Advance Auto or the dealer. Advance has the National in stock too.

What do you think about getting the Carquest brand clutch? Looks the same as the LUK, just $50 less. I’d rather spend more for reliability though.

Have you replaced your clutch yet, Jim? If so, what’d you end up getting?

Flivver, how’s that National bearing going for you? Any noises so far?

My National TOB and Luk clutch kit is working fine and quiet. I also used a Luk flywheel. Some say replacing the flywheel is not necessary.
