Currently have a rr ridge mount. Im on my 2nd one. They are just plain flimsy. Im about set on the bullet proot designs universal mount for the older tj & jk models. It screws right into your dash so you really mount it anywhere. All i want is a solid mount for my phone so i dont need one of those dash bar set ups for just a phone ( unless someone makes a dash mounted espresso machine, then maybe!)😁

Just wanted to check here before i pull the trigger to make i dont overlook any be
 
Chris, i did a search and saw that one but on my older 08jk my dash is smooth and doesn't have t the built in tray so that will not work for me but i agree it's nice.
 
I am using a permanently mounted unit from Panavise - works great. www.panavise.com I have a bracketron phone cradle attached to the Panavise.

I got the Bulletproof system for the JK and its awesome the only issue i have is i have a aftermarket headunit and cant screw it in buts still solid

If you like the 67 Designs phone mount, they make a bar that goes across your entire dash that you can mount things too (some people love it, some hate it), but it also gives the option of mounting a ton of other things.
 
I went ahead and got the bulletproof unit. It's mostly metal and feels very solid right out of the box. After having the rugged ridge mount break on me twice I don't think I will ever taint my Jeep with rugged ridge products again. I decided to mount it a little further back on dash so the phone will not block the radio controls and the phone can rest on the dash for a little more perceived stability. I don't have a bunch of "steal me" gadgetry to add to the dash so I think this will meet my needs nicely. Time will tell
