Out with the old head unit

Old head unit went out this weekend and a new one came in

Generally, wired is preferred. It is the same way on my Alpine X409. I have never observed a wireless Carplay working well. It is generally a hit or miss.
 
yes it does but its wired connection but no wireless

Gotcha, that's a great feature.

Mine is wireless, and to be honest I haven't had any issue with it so far. Though you can also use a wired connection if you want.
 
I'm figuring out some of the quirks with it. I need to re program the maestro and turn off uconnect. I think that may be causing some stupid issues.
 
@blank - what is the model of that head unit? Any extra parts needed? I assume a wiring harness, but any other brackets or plastic work?

Got a new to me 2015 Willy's and love it, but the stock head unit is PAINFUL.

I used the Pioneer DMH1500nex with the maestro rr harness adapter. i ordered all my stuff from crutchfield they add everything to the cart that you might need. if you have any questions feel free to ask.
