I have a 2007 unlimited x. What is the easiest engine swap to do. I need help on deciding on LS or Hemi. I will not be doing the work but need to find all the correct parts to make this work without busting the bank.

No engine swap is going to be easy. They're all going to be very difficult, and very expensive to get done right.

However, of all the swaps out there, the 5.7 Hemi swap is going to be the easiest. Since the Hemi is a Mopar product (like Jeep), it goes in with the least amount of fuss versus lets say an LS swap. This is why it's so common to see Hemi swaps in JKs, because it's a very, very documented swap.

This 3.8 engine is mounted the wrong way, but may give you an idea.
I would think a front facing engine might be a little easier.
This guy doesn't magically skip struggling with all the hard parts like most youtube mechanics.

If I would ever need to put a new engine in my JK it would be a Cummins 4bt, can't get any simpler then they are.

what was wrong with the old engine? i would think any small block 6 would work - but what about all the CANBUS stuff and getting the computers to work?
