I have a 2010 jku that has caked on dry mud. I want to clean it and lube and protect my undercarriage. I want to make sure everything is lubed and clean looking as I want to take care of this thing now instead of thrashing it.

For California weather I would think to power wash, power brush and scrape, paint, and it would be good for another 10 years.
Although it is simple and inexpensive I find that Rustoleum products work just fine and last a long time and I am in the Salt Belt.

OK thanks. I was thinking about protecting but I don't think I need to wax or anything else because I don't deal with the salt like you where I'm at. I do deal with water, mud and heat. I just want everything looking good but being lubed up well so everything moves the way it should too.

I would think a couple cans of Fluid Film would cover the moving parts.
Be sure to pull the tail lights to wash out that area, I noticed dirt collecting in the corners.

Honestly, you don't need to do anything other than clean it if rust isn't a concern (and it shouldn't be in California).
