Has anyone dealt with a loss of comms gear shift module. I'm leaning toward a bad module but not sure. Thanks guys

I've never had to deal with this issue, but common knowledge would suggest checking all the wires running to and from the system. if you wheel hard chances are something has been knocked lose. But more commonly, a rodent may have had lunch on the wires. Worse case as you've admitted is a new module.

For instance if you wheel through mud or water, chances are condensation has entered the engine bay and has saturated many electrical parts or connections. The only thing left to do here, is systematically check and clean all wired connections.

Yeah that's what I was thinking . I assumed the module because the wife got a bit to deep and swamped the inside.
