Brand new to the forum, so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to ask, or if this question has been beaten to a pulp!! I'm looking to custom order my dream 2 door rubicon, but im having some serious difficulties finding a STEALERship that isn't going to take my life savings, my first born, and my left kidney in exchange for it. I live in hawaii, and all the dealerships I've contacted in the state aren't willing to budge from 10-20% adm mark up. Anyone know of any dealerships currently offering good deals on the west coast? Or even the east coast? I feel as though my only option at this point is to ship my dream to me. Any info is greatly appreciated!

I would honestly wait out the whole post-pandemic rollout till things somewhat "normalize". Otherwise, you have no leverage and they'll rail you in the culo!

Or do what the wealthy or money savvy do and buy used. F brand new. Are you making money while you sleep? If not then use logic. Buying new is rarely a good move for the average to middle income earner. #realtalk

Honestly, these are the same kinds of prices we always have, even pre-covid. It's part of living here unfortunately, everything is expensive. Thats why I figure spending 1500 to ship one out here is my best option, I just don't even know where to begin. As for buying used: that's what I did a few years ago. My dd right now is a '16 patriot with under 50k miles, but I hate it lol. I'm just at a point in life where I can finally afford my dream car. Just don't want to buy my dream car with a 20% mark up

@VultureCulture666 then yah, man, I guess searching the web for another option in another state may yield good results but waiting it out, I believe, will be the best course of action. So many goods are costly at the current moment.

Wish you the best. I waited a few months for some items that were back ordered this year and in 2020. I just haven't paid inflated prices, yet.

New inventory is horrible due to chip makers not producing and shipping. Auto manufacturers slowed production as a result and that's why there are no new cars filling dealerships right now.
The list of reasons not to buy new are plentiful, even when there is no production shortage, pandemic and inflation beginning to rear its ugly head.
But, if your mind is made up to order new- best of luck!
Personally, I've taken a lot more satisfaction buying mine 2 years old and doing all the work on it myself. It's my JKU done my way- no way could I have ordered it up and provided nearly as much fun.

It seems like you are looking for a JL not a JK, but the principle is still the same. :)

What I would do if you were set on buying new, would be to wait a little bit for the crazy prices to go down and then find somewhere in the midwest/south to buy from. You mentioned both coasts, but with more people being on the coasts, the markups are going to be higher. If you are really getting 20% dealer markups then the cost to ship from somewhere in the south will be considerably less than that 20%.

I was going to move to Hawaii at one point and I think (if i remember correctly) it was around 2000 to ship from Arkansas to Hawaii so lets just say double that for time difference and you're still way less expensive. Just my thoughts.
