Looking for help. I just replaced the torque converter in a 2011 Rubicon unlimited. Now the jeep will not move. The dash shows it is shifting and I can look on the side of the transmission and also see its shifting. Messing with the fluid is not working. I removed some fluid then made sure it was full after letting it run and no luck. Looking for other ideas of what to do.

check your fluid with it "N". It should fill as soon as it started; hope you had put a splash in the converter (trans too) when installed. Double check all electrical connections.
Good luck.

I was able to get 2 quarts in the converter before I put it in. The fluid in N is showing full. I looked at all of the electrical connections and don't see anything wrong. It's now throwing a P0944.

That means you lost pressure. Please we are here for help not to dog anyone.
Did you check and make sure the converter was notched in the input shaft?
If the converter isn't set in the front pump then you would have no pressure.
Note I did this back in the late 80's. When this happened I had a noise at the front of the trans (GM truck).

Let us know if there is any weird noise at starting (starter/trans).

Yes the jeep was fine before the install. The torque converter was slid all the way in and lined up as far as I could tell. It starts right up and no funny noise

Easy way is to break a trans cooler line loose.

Doesn't really matter where either trans or cooler will squirt fluid. I prefer the return line.
Fire it up and see if you have pressure coming out.

If not then we will go from there.
Did you do a drain & filter too?

Ouch.... I'm not a trans tech. RnR about 75 over the years. The only time I personally had this issue the converter wasn't all the way in. I chewed up my front pump also. Now I bolt a bent piece of steel to hold it in. When it's almost in I remove the retainer hold with hand.

In my mind no pressure after this task means no pump rotation. Pump turns from the converter.

Here is a general converter install. Take 2 min and watch.

I was able to get the transmission back out yesterday and was told I need to replace the front pump. Any ideas on how to get it out? I have pulled the 5 bolts in it.

There might be some holes to run bolts into to push it out. If 2 holes just run in each a couple of turns to push or put slide hammer on it.

I was able to get it out with a gear puller. Got the new pump in and everything is back together. Started it up and there was a noise like it was super tight and it died. Any ideas?

I would like to see a tranny guy jump on here.... I've had a noise before and it was what you just went though...
For it to kill the engine something was tight. I hope the converter was set.

No I got the transmission pump replaced and everything back together and it still would not move. Had it towed to a shop and they say I need a new transmission now which is over $4600. So I'm thinking I'm going to bring it back home put one in myself and save a little money.
