Anyone else experience “surging” issues?
I notice when unloading the jeep while its running, the exhaust note seems to surge/rev up/down. Also at highway speeds about 62mph and low speed about 35mph slight inclines. Not sure if it was a day one issue because I put so much stuff on it at once(lift, intake, tires, gears, pedal controller, aev flashcal, dual exhaust).
Starting to irritate me. Dealer dismisses/refuses work because aftermarket parts.
I do notice transmission module needs reworked cause shift points are poor. I will probably try ost dyno for tcm flash unless anyone has used HP to rewrite their tcm with success. The “lift to shift” before trans warms up was most annoying but the damn surging is getting worse and noticed it when backing out of parking space yesterday.

Dynomax dual exhaust
Yukon 4:56 master gear kits
Spectre intake

The transmission shift points can not be reprogrammed on these things to my knowledge, even with HPTuners. I've looked into this in depth, and I'm pretty darn sure about this, so if you know something I don't I'd love to hear it.

It's not throwing any codes or anything? These things are run almost entirely on electronics. In your situation I wouldn't rely on the dealership, I would take it to a reputable transmission shop and have them diagnose it. It might cost you, but it's worth it to pay $200 or so for a diagnosis as oppose to just guessing what it might be. Without a check engine light of some sort, it's really hard to trace down issues like this.

You said peddle controler and superchips. First thing is to restore electronics back to stock. Or take it back to who ever installed the peddle controller.

In an older jeep, before drive by wire, I had the same symptoms. It was my sons, that I volunteered to drive from florida to NYS. First few hundred miles was hell with weird shifting with any little change in grade. When I stopped, I turned the key on, but did not start. Slowly pump the gas pedal a few times. Turn off turn on, the rest of the trip was so smooth I went up on to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

There is actually 2 shops that were recommended to flash the trans control module. OST Dyno and RPM Extreme. Bith are about $300 and either require you to send your tcm or do a swap program where you buy their programmed tcm and then send yours to them for a partial refund.
My friend tunes with HP Tuners on his LS swapped RX-7 producing 800+whp. The only thing he wasn’t sure is if Jeep ecm needs unlocked to flash the tcm. I believe OST Dyno is also using HP to flash the tcm. My Jeep produces no codes and is not in limp mode, nor does anything change if I turn the pedal controller off. I believe the surge is the Jeep trying to decide best gear/air/gas ratio to be in because if you apply more gas or slow down, the surge stops. It’s very specific to certain speeds when it happens.

I suspect you may be right. Truth be told, I thought it was impossible to change the shift points on these things due to what I had heard from others. I also know that on the older TJs, it was indeed 100% impossible to change the shift points, as even HPTuners didn't have access to the TCM. On the JKs though, with them being more computer controlled, I couldn't understand why it would not be possible.

If you end up getting your shift points re-programed, I'd love to hear about your experience and how you like the end result. If it's possible, I would definitely love to have mine changed as well.
