I recently bought an aftermarket third brake light "halo" for inside my spare tire. After I installed it, the speaker/chime for the door/headlight/seatbelt alert would buzz every time I pressed the brake pedal (i.e., every time the new brake light would come on). At first I thought it was coming from the stereo, so I installed an electronic noise filter, but then I realized it was the Jeep's warning chime. I contacted the manufacturer of the light, and they had no ideas, but they were great in letting me return it. I bought a different one, slightly different style and a little more expensive (but also from Amazon), and this one also causes the buzz. I thought maybe I could install the noise filter on the warning chime (or maybe just snip the wire(s) to eliminate it completely), but apparently it is mounted to a circuit board somewhere deep inside the dash. I have seen hundreds of these halo-type third brake lights on Wranglers. Has anyone else run into this buzzing sound?
