Bought my JKU used; previous owner installed an sPOD. I’ve been debugging some lights that didn’t work and other intermittent problems and noticed that my spod doesn’t work at all with the cover off.

is this normal? Ie is this a feature? I’m not finding anything about this.
Thank you!

I don't remember any problems with the cover being off or any switch or any reason the cover has to be on to work

yeah that's what I'm worried about... that the behavior is not normal and is some kind of grounding or other problem.
I've resolved the light bar and rear bumper light problems, and don't want to have a random problem like this lingering. My compressor is wired to the sPOD, as are both lockers, so while I let the lighting go for a 1/2 year, I can't have lockers randomly not working!

Ok posting to help others w their spod. Turns out the cover on/off was just a coincidence (thrice!)
I also have a Genesys dual battery setup, and spod waits until the accessory battery is charging before coming on, which according to spod can take a couple minutes. Due to the sequence of how I was testing I never figured this out😂
If you need to turn anything on prior to the 2 min, you manually boost the batteries.
Mary and Josh at sPOD are super nice and helpful btw.
