[QUOTE="dgentile, post: 449017, member: 23681"] so this is what we started out with, your typical mall crawler that has flashy parts. first things first the rough country lift had to go. we went with a custom set up running fox reservoir shocks, 4.5 rock krawler tripple rate springs, jks acos hydraulic bump stops, and custom adjustable control arms. after one ride we realized that the rear control arm brackets and shock mount had to be changed as they were hanging up on everything. we decided to go with the synergy kit and it was great quality. another instant issue was the pathetic power steering while in 4wd with the front diff locked, called up trail gear and had them send me over a hydraulic assist set up and threw it on there. being that this jeep is just a x we went with the g2 core 44 front and rear axle housings with 35 spline auburn gear select a lock e lockers and 35 spline rcv's. the tires and wheels were great for riding around the mall so we went ahead and ordered a set of 40" mickey thompson baja pro xs's and a set of kmc machete bead locks.im not a fan of the no fenders so we ordered a set of motobilt crusher series front and rear fenders along with their rear bumper. unfortunately less then a month of owning it the motor let go with 113,000 miles (mini van junk) went to the junk yard and bought a 3.8 out of a town and country and threw it in until we finish getting the hemi parts piled up. decided to go with 5.13 gears on this build and they seem to be doing good. i love having my trail maps easily viewable so we got a 10 inch android head unit so i can see my trail maps in a large scale. we went with the currie correct link steering system which has shown not to hold up to the rock crawling environment so we are going to give the rpm steering setup a try and see what we get out of that. we went with a rear antirock sway bar and stuck with a stock front with disconnects. I'm sure I'm leaving a lot out but that's a start. i will update the post as we continue adding to the ole jeep and travel across the country putting it to the test!
