Seeking thoughts on bike and ski rack combo for soft top

I have a soft top - 2 door, and I am looking for a bike rack that I can modify into a ski rack if possible.

Ideally looking for over the spare tire, as it gives access to the cargo space, without taking the bikes off. Anyone have thoughts from the past, where they were able to retrofit something?

Open to a hitch mounted rack as well, but that requires taking the bikes/ skis off every time I want to access the cargo area.

For our TJ, we have an older Yakima, 2-bike rack that mounts to a plate/post that goes through the spare tire. I had to have the post extended when we increased tire size, but it has been a great rack.

We also have a 4- bike rack that mounts to the hitch if we take the JK, or need to haul more bikes on the TJ.
That rack has the ability to fold down (while still mounted to the hitch) for tailgate access when the bikes are removed.

I would be very cautious of any large rack option (more than 2 bikes) that only mounts to the spare.
